The current resentment that is directed towards Haye is simply the frustration that boxing fans feel due to his shallow promises.

When he decided to move up to heavyweight,Haye promised to bring excitement & uinity to the division.

In reality, thus far,he has done neither.

He was very vocal in calling out the Klitschkos but when the deal was done twice,he turned his back & walked away.

His lack of activity,is the direct opposite to his promise to bring excitement to the division.

David Haye: Put up or Shut up.

There are no more excuses. If you are truly serious about unifying the division,if you are firm in your self belief, stop talking & fight the Klitschkos.

David Haye: The new messiah or a lamb in wolfs clothing?

Time will tell & actions speak far louder than words.

I'm not that invested in anything Haye does and don't worry about it too much. I've enjoyed most of his fights and if he decides to take the risk, people will pretty much instantaneously forget the waiting and the talk of ducking and fear. In the rather small amount of fights he's had, he's unified titles and become linear champ at Cruiserweight and a titlist at heavyweight. Some people are calling him a fraud. Fraud's don't do that. He's been pretty damned ambitious up to this point.

I have no idea if he wants to go for broke or not but whatever. All we can do is wait it out either way. People are acting like his trying to hype himself for a more successful career without following through on everything so far is a betrayal on them almost. I don't get that. Fighters say things like "I'm going to fight five times this year" or "I'm going to unify the division" all the time and then don't. Although I certainly want to see him fight Wlad or Vitali, and I do feel free to crack jokes on him here and there for his BS, but I don't think it's that big a deal.

I didn't say they'd forget his talking, I said they'd forget all the talk about waiting for him to fight a K, and saying he's afraid to face them and is ducking them as soon as he actually fights one of them, if he does. No, I'm sure everyone will go joyously bat**** on quoting him and mocking him if he loses at all, let alone that decisively.

Haye should step up and fight Wlad.

The Champion, Wladimir, offers him 50:50 with no options!

Wlad should defend against someone other than Haye anyway.

Haye has done nothing to deserve a shot.

He did beat the greatest/largest heavyweight to ever live. I think that entitles him to a shot, Jazz.

That's because after you fight the Russian Bear, everything else is a letdown. He's jaded now. Nobody is left out there who can give him the same kind of adrenaline rush. He's been spoiled on the pleasure of sharing the ring with true greatness. Isn't that obvious?

Right! he should stay that way, he's full of hot air-all talk and no follow-up.
