Agree about the toe excuse, it was a total disgrace. It was simply pathetic!! In fact, beyond pathetic.

However, the non action in the fight against Wlad, was as much to blame on Wlad as Haye. Haye also did go for it in the last, which is more than a man twice his size in Wlad did the whole fight.

All in all though, certainly not one of the true British warriors of the ring, but the fan boys who bought the rubbish from his mouth have only got themselves to blame too. In a way, they were very much part of the problem in encouraging it by believing what came out his mouth and applauding the trash.

Anyone with half a brain knew it was all trash talk and he was never truly going to cut it at heavy. He always had a punchers chance at a long stretch, that's about it, and Haye clearly knew that himself.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Haye has come up short in sparing many times at HW.

What I find most shocking of all is the wide plaudits he got for the Valuev fight, contrasted to the total condemnation he got for the Wlad fight. In my eyes, the Wlad performance was a far, far superior one to the one against Valuev.

    disappointing decision.

would like to see him stick around for 3 more fights.

fight a couple of top 10 opponents and a klitschko.

he's made a mint and cashed out.

in that respect good luck to him.

disappointed he doesn't wanna prove he's the best of the rest next to the klitschko's. :verysad

To be fair it was not buying that he would beat Wlad and/or Vitali it was buying that he would go for it and fight the best. That is what he did at Cruiser, he took risks and always wanted to test himself, he was never a loud mouth. He took on Thompson very early in his career which was brave and he came back from the loss and looked to fight good opponents. He went to Mormecks back yard to win and then took on the unnecessary risk of Enzo to give the fans a fight they wanted.

Fighting Barrett and going for his shots against a bonafide pro really showed he was aiming to do the same. No doubt the Setanta collapse caused the first Wlad fight to be pulled and it is almost as if that changed him. Up until then he had gone for the good fights and he had got Wlad fairly quickly. Then when it was pulled he seemed to just become a mouth.

I didn't blame him for the Valuev fight as he DID break his hand in the 3rd. But Harrison was unforgivable as a fan, and just an earner that was sold to the idiots with months of shitty internet arguing over Twitter.

Wlad is safety first and boring to watch, but that is exactly why Haye should have gone for it early. Before Wlad settled and got into a rhythm. Instead he just opted to see it out.

Some people on this forum are hilarious. They back scumbag criminals like Scot Harrison and nassem hamed but act like David haye is the worst thing ever to happen to boxing. All haye done was talk himself into a he didn't really deserve, he's not the first fighter to this and won't be the last. His worst crime was getting beat off one of the most consistant heavyweights of the last 15 years a Man who had significant can't height and reach advantages over him. People need a sense of perspective.

No. No shame in losing at all. Saying he would come and fight the best in the division and bring excitement and then hand picking guys like Harrison in order to just make cash is shameless. It does not make him a bad person and I don't hold any bad feelings towards him as a person, but in this sport people will dislike fighters who are only in it for money and don't want to face the best and they will like honest fighters who try and achieve the most their talents will allow.

That's why someone like Jamie Moore is so respected, because he always gave it everything and wanted to push himself. Someone like Haye was great in the Cruisers and then became nothing but a business man. I can't blame him anymore than I can blame a rapper who chooses to release **** hip-pop songs in order to make a load of money. Fair play to them, it's their life and they need security, but don't then also expect to be lauded and respected by real fans of the genre.

Harrison was a disgrace of a fight and then when it came to Wlad he did not even try and win or go out like a warrior. Again no ill feelings against him, but then it gets boring to hear his mouth again when he has made a bit of a mockery of himself. It also makes British fighters look like empty braggarts to the rest of the world.

May as well retire, the kilts are just too good.

I thought it was a decent effort against wlad, gave him the most trouble anyone has since the first Peter fight. Wlad is a **** to fight.

It's a shame as people will always remember him for the Harrison 'fight' and the farce Wlad fight and excuses which follwed. He hasnt been in many wars, and still looks fitter than ever. But its up to him. I wont particularly miss him, but i would have watched his comeback

He ****ed it up for himself unfortunately, he managed to make that much of a twat of himself pre and post wlad that people will forget all thevgood things he did before much like naz Barrera , he did very well in reality but after all the hype you have to go for it.

I'd have rather got chillingly ko'd in prizefighter then embarrass myself fighting like a coward. Sounds harsh but he should have just gone for it like he did in so many fights before.

A guy I know, who was a top man in amateur circles, and knew David very well, today me as far back as his announcement of him going to Heavyweight, that he was doing it with the sole purpose of sealing a big fight with a Klitschko, as he was getting out of boxing early as his hands were wrecked.
I thought he fought a very smart fight v Wlad, never at any stage did Wlad look comfortable, and the times Haye did explode, 3rd or 4th round, and the last, Wlad had no answer.
I agree with you about being sick of Hayes mouth, and I wanted him to lose v Wlad, so no loss as far as Im concerned if he doesnt fight again, although IMO this is to force a Vitali fight, as who else is there for Vitali?
