The amount of lies they tell in the Sun is absolutely atrocious, along the lines of NOW, Daily Express, Daily mail, Daily Star etc... they only good for one thing... wiping your arse on when you're out of toilet paper!

Why the **** would he walk away from a Vitali fight?

I hope this time, if the fight is signed, he goes about it in a more professional manner. Get down to business and do the hard work. Less of the talking at press conferences etc. Leave everything in the ring.

There will be absolutely no shame in hanging them up after that... as there isn't now, but let's face it - he can't be content going out like that. Most will expect him to lose against Vitali so he might as well just give it a go and earn the £ - if he works hard enough it could pay off.

I confess that I am surprised that anyone still has this sort of faith in his motivations. He gets lots of money and another run of fame regardless of the outcome. The result is the one bit he won't put much work into. If he were interested in glory it would have been evident before now.

he used his cruiserweight success to catspult him into heavyweight contention.

he virtually unified the division then stepped up & became a 2 time world champion, thats no easy feat.

he beat monty barrett, many people were calling him the gatekeeper of the HW division but haye made light work of him, people will go on about barrett putting haye down but anyone with a brain will know that it was a glancing blow that caught haye off balance.

he fought john ruiz, made ****ing light work of him too, ruiz of course was shot even tho no one was saying this before the fight.

haye gets crucified after fighting harrison, even tho you all bought into the hype before the fight, you can blame harrison for the **** fight because it was no fault of david hayes that it was crap. haye came to fight, fraudley never.

he fights the best heavyweight in the world of the last 5 years at least & comes up short, this is to a man who was alot taller and a couple of stone heavier. he was never going to win.

you all believed the hype, its your fault not hayes.

people can moan all they want but years down the line you will all appreciate hayes career for what it was, a 2 weight world champion who absolutely smashed cruiserweight, who then stepped up to heavyweight knowing his own limitations & still fought some good big guys on his way to retiring healthy & wealthy.

    good on him i say...

i believed in david haye. he put it on the line and was'nt afraid to take a risk.
he took on "king" arthur williams in only his 10th pro fight, then carl thompson straight after that.
knocked out mormeck, in france, beat valuev, in germany, then haye started to change, or show his true colours, whatever you believe.
haye then did more talking than fighting, appearing on every tv show he could, thinking he could be a star in hollywood and telling everyone that would listen what he would do to wladimir klitschko. when haye's chance finally came, he could'nt back up any of his talk, lost nearly every round, then blamed it all on his little toe hurting.
haye started so well, with a bang, but went out with a whimper.

I suppose. I guess what I am saying is, 'put up or shut up.'

He can go down the route of becoming some sort of celeb-tv personality or crack on, get his head down and work at one more massive fight. I ran out of faith in Haye long before all this. I was tiring when he took on Ruiz (even though I went to the fight) and had lost faith with the whole Audley debarcle (I went from paying for a ticket, to not even buying the PPV) - in all fairness though, I would like to see this. As long as he goes about it right and announces it soon. Otherwise, retire.

This is why I said elsewhere that there's no point in this debate as it always ends up the same way, we're all too polarized. I see what you are saying, I would counter that I Mormeck was old, he lost to Thompson, Enzo was no good in the first place, he took his time to beat Barrett and did get knocked down, Valuev was crap and Haye managed to look crap against him, I did say that Ruiz was old before that fight - Haye just proved it, he was terrible against Wlad, Haye carefully selected his opponents through both divisions, the two times he faced a live, dangerous opponent he lost (and one of those was badly faded, the other known to be vulnerable) so overall I won't look back on him as a great fighter, but I will think of him as a great opportunist businessman who was a solid enough fighter to make that work for him.

So the majority of people engaged in this debate are set in their views (myself included!) and are never going to agree. Sorry for wasting your time reading this lol!!

I see what you're saying, but for me his 'put up or shut up' moment was some time ago; he did not put up but unfortunately also failed to shut up.
