If Haye-Povetkin does get announced, then Vitali will almost HAVE to retire immediately: (which is a good thing.) Imagine if Haye were to beat Povetkin, and Vitali retired AFTER this happened? He'd look like the biggest quacker of all time.
Haye gets a lot of ****, but you don't unify a division by being a bum. Wlad was just out of his league, plain and simple. I think if he got focused and started from the bottom, fought some contenders and maybe win a regional title or 2, then he'd be in line for another HW title shot. But until then, he has no business being in the world title game.
Haye by stoppage has to be the favorite here, but make no question Povetkin is the far more accomplished HW. Will be a great win if Haye grabs it.
Haye unified a division (CW) in beating a bum, Maccaranelli. So it's more or less the same. He didn't even make a defense of those unified titles. Haye is vastly overrated at either weightclass.
So, will Haye be Sauerlands ***** again for getting the chance to take Povetkin's paper title.....like he was when he took Valuev's?
