http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/boxing/article1208828.ece By PAT SHEEHAN Published: 26 May 2008 DAVID HAYE has signed a deal with Oscar De La Hoya’s promoters to fight in the United States. Golden Boy execs, in England to watch Ricky Hatton’s win over Juan Lazcano on Saturday, have stayed an extra few days to seal the deal. Undisputed world cruiserweight champ Haye, 27, is moving up to heavyweight — with Hasim Rahman expected to be his next opponent.
It's not true, well at least it hasn't been announced yet. Haye has negotiated his own tv deal with Setanta Sports and this will be announced this week.
The Sun Newspaper is the most unreliable source possible. I wouldn't hold your breath until a reliable souce reports it.
Rahman might be a wrong move for a guy with a suspect chin to take on. that being said, I'll still take Haye if it happens. GB promo's is defo where the fighters want to be.
You're right if Rahman can actually land something good, but then again i wouldn't bet on it since it's prety obvious that Hasim is well passed his best. by the way, great move by both Haye and GBP. Haye should be a top priority in that company and if the guy makes noise at heavyweght than GBP stands to earn a lot of big paydays in the future.
ive heard from a good source haye has started up his own company (hayemaker promotions) which is a co venture with golden boy. similar to what hatton has done with punch promotions. i apoligise if this is in any links. i couldnt be arsed to read them!!:good
