I can't believe people are moaning about the Briggs fight not happening after condemning Haye for originally entertaining this farce. When Briggs was bothering Wlad then he could pretend it was about titles and glory but when he started stalking the title-less Haye it became clear it was all about securing a final payday. He moans about people ducking him when really he's asking someone who is self promoting to pay him way, way over the odds to fight him. I was hoping Haye would KO him just to finally remove his annoying 'Let's Go Champ' BS from boxing but now he's looking at a Parker fight next year I'm glad to see him finally step up his game.
Agree Shannon Briggs now is nothing worth wasting a fight on But if David haye made the promise he should honor it
Yeah, it may have also cost Briggs a lot to come over the UK (he can't have been paid loads for the fights he's had?) and seek the fight avidly. I've heard people at my local gym shouting 'let's go champ', so he's got some attention, but I too hope the Briggs/Haye fight never happens. It'd be great to see Haye actually tested at heavyweight.
You are an idiot, highlighted by the fact you think a Bellew fight would happen at a catchweight. Every man and his dog has stated it would be at full heavyweight if it was to happen, including Haye, Bellew and E Hearn.
And your a idiot if you don't think it will happen at a heavyweight catch weight. 215lbs, Haye will do anything for a big pay cheque. Lititle keyboard warrior.
Haye needs to fight a big name opponent next or duck the sport permanently for the sake of us fans. Preferably the latter. Really tired of this clown and his antics......
I dislike Haye but nobody ducks Briggs ffs He is just an old man who looks and sounds like he is mentally ill and let's be honest here he wasn't very good in his prime.
Whatever your take on Haye, it does make me laugh that people are calling him a con artist who's fought stiffs since his comeback (true, btw) and then pin their colours to the mast of Briggs, who's been doing exactly the same. If the fight ever happens it should be called Haye vs Briggs: The Con-tenders...
I think it's pretty clear that Haye is trying to get the fight against Joshua, don't be delusional and think that Haye is ducking Briggs, it's more to it than that...
Keyboard warrior. By the way David price just had a interview saying he thinks the fight will be at 210/215 lbs. Take his word over prob some southern softie.
Yeah. The best part about a fight between them would be the fact that boxing would've been rid of one them for good, regardless of who won. I think Haye should've just stuck to his word. Most of the major details should've been ironed out prior to their last bouts against nondescript opposition. As the saying goes, it's just "water under the bridge" now.
Well it doesn't matter what Price thinks, as it is nothing to do with him, just another 'full of sh!te' scouser. There is no way Haye needs to make it at catchweight, and he won't. He is mando for the winner of Parker v Ruiz jr, I can assure you if Ruiz luckboxes against Parker that will be the route he will take. He may go that route anyway as Parker is a far, far, easier fight than Joshua. He is likely going up to similar 1/2 positions for WBA and IBF after December, so doesn't need to fight catchweight and has already said he won't.
I'd like to see Haye fight Price on Dec 10th with AJ against Jennings (out of Jennings/Molina/Price, Jennings is the best of the 3) He's wanting to win the WBO as he's mando to Parker/Ruiz winner and a BIG unification fight with AJ. Haye against Price, then Parker and then Joshua would mean massive money for him and tbh he probably wins two of those fights (Price and Parker or Ruiz, although the Parker fight would be brilliant to see)
