I'm not buying any of Hayes big talk, I'd say there's a fifty-fifty chance he gets blown out before he gets in the ring with either K brother. A lot of little kids talking crap about the HW division. There are plenty strong fighters outside the top 20, and even Top 40. In the 80's and 90's I would dispute that was the case, the East Europens have easily filled the void of US talent.

You use the word talent too freely :verysad

Who are these strong fighters outside the top 20 or top 40?

    :patsch

Look at Hayes record and look at how fast he took on Thompson.

He had'nt been a pro for 5 minutes.

Then he showed heart, got back up and went on to become European and Undipsuted Cruiserweight Champion of the World!

That's how he is going to become Heavyweight Champion! :deal

I wouldn't say he sucks until proven otherwise.

Haye will be quicker and more skillful than most fighter's in the heavyweight division. He also has tremendous power at cruiser so will have at the least decent power that needs to be respected at the top weight class. How much his power carries up though we will have to wait and see. His chin is also suspect but some of this needs to be put down to him having to drain himself to make the 200 lb limit. Now im not saying he would have a Margoesque chin if he was a natural cruiser but he wouldn't have reacted so badly to the Mormeck shot that put him down if he wasn't weight drained.

So because of the aformentioned statements i would say that Haye is an unknown quantity until hes had a few fight's and we see how he handles the extra weight on himself and of his opponent's.

Personally i can see Haye losing as i don't think his chin will hold up to the hardest hitters but just because he gets beat doesn't mean his heavyweight career will be over. Because of his skills and power he will always be in the fight until that bomb lands so theres no reason why he cant come back if he is defeated, make a few adjustments and win.

Obviously head to head the heavyweight division is more talented than the cruiser division but in terms of pound for pound i would say that the cruiser divison is far more talented than the heavyweight divsion.

With Haye gone the cruiserweight division may lack a star name but it is one of the deepest and most competitive divisions in boxing, IMO.

Pound for pound The Klits and Toney are better than anyone at cruiser but over the past five years i would rate Mormeck, Cunningham, Bell, Maccarinelli, Jones, Braithwaite, Adamek over the rest of the Heavy division. Plus you have your younger/less experienced guys coming through like Alexeev, Kraj, Flores, Huck, Godfrey, Banks and Hernandez.

Like i say, it lacks star names, but it is still a deep, talented division. More so than the heavyweight division. Obviously Haye didn't fight and beat hardly any guys on this list but he did beat the top dog in Mormeck and he did beat another top fighter in Maccarinelli so you can't just brush that aside.

  6. Just the next "great black hope". Good luck with that.

I would have given him a good chance against Chagaev if he was still around, that would be an awesome fight. Too bad Chagaev' injuries are slowly sending him out.

Haye vs Wladimir/Povetkin winner is what's going to happen after Barrett it seems.

I dont see why Haye is getting stick, he is only saying what everyone else has been thinkning.

The division is ****, it does need exitement.

If we had a stronger champion, i would be worried about Hayes chances, but fact is the number 1 guy is Wladimir Klitschko who is very weak in quite a few areas.

Thing is i think Wlad's fans know David Haye has enough to beat their man, thats why they get so tetchy when the debate if brought up.

I have a question...How did this whole Matrix-Thing start...i mean every Haye-Fan is referring to the Matrix..."It´s gonna be like the matrix bla bla..."
Did Haye himself linked his performances with the matrix or what?!

Haye gave an interview some time ago (maybe before the Enzo Mac fight) and said that he was so quick "It will be like the matrix in there". Like most things he says it was said with tongue firmly stuck in cheek, unfortunately most Klit fans do not have the wit to recognise this.
