I see him as a heavyweight Nigel Benn.

Yep, all that weight draining is making him drop his left hand low.

How can he be to small he is 6ft3 and comfortable weighs 230lbs. Holyfield and Tyson were never above that weight or height, nor are alot of current champs.

Somewhere in between, he'll be a conistent top 10 hw, but will get exposed if he faces the top guys like Wlad. His chin has been exposed against some relatively weak punchers, so i think he'd get dropped against a genuine hw hitter. But he'd definitely beat some fringe fighters like Austin, Timur Ibragimov, Greenberg, etc etc

I think Haye would beat Austin, Timur Ibragimov & Roman Greenberg. Austin by points & the other 2 by KO.

I agree he will be a genuine Heavyweight contender, but the flaws in his defence, coupled with his apparent lack of punch resistance will be his ultimate downfall.

Having said that, he definitely has the skills to be a title holder in this era. JC mentioned he's the Nigel Benn of Heavyweights, well, he would certainly go far if he had half the chin and determination of Benn. It is however far too early to make a decision on Haye in the HW division, his next couple of fights will held determine how far he can go.

Chin is too soft and defense is too porous for him to succeed at heavyweight. He would be destroyed by fighters like Povetkin, Dimentroko, Virchis and others quite easily. If he stepped up to the Klitschko, Chagaev, Ibragimov level, he would get destroyed.

He is a much better fighter than Bruno, you need to watch Haye's fights and then come back with a comment.

They are completely different fighters, and Haye is a class above Bruno. Bruno was borderline world class, Haye is world class.

I like Haye, but his flaws are so obvious. Even in the fight against Mormeck, I felt like Haye was a KO waiting to happen. He must make massive amount of improvement on his defence, otherwise he will end up on his back rather regularly.

Not as big as Grant, he may move a little better because for allof his great athletisism Mike was a TOO TALL heavyweight who had troubles turning naturally. Only two men exposed that traite to Mikes demise Lewis, and Dom Guinn they used his height against him, Haye can't string shots together as well as Grant did at his best , but Grant was special at that moment. Haye is a good banger and has chin issues,, for those traits alone Haye is similar.. But the similarities end there.. Haye is more like a Mike Moorer, Hard banger but not that huge .. a kill or be killed heavyweight..

Maybe Hayes' fans can explain somthing to me. I really have a hard time understanding why Haye has been fighting at cruiser.

Everyone blames his poor stamina and chin because he kills himself to make 200, claiming these problems will disappear at hw once he fights at his natural weight. 220+? People can bash the hw division all they want but the cruisers make peanuts compaared to the big boys. So it's not money.

So why the hell has he been killing himself to make crusier especially if he is doing harm to his body? :think

Haye fought as an AM at heavy. But he was a small heavy who had to eat his weight in gold to stay there. He turned pro at 190 at the old cruiser limit and had no trouble back then making the weight. His always wanted to be a heavy and in my opinion has neglected his roadwork which he hates in favor of a weights regime to build himself into a solid heavyweight. Now with the extra musculature and such a low BF he has trouble making 200 effectively.

David is a product of his own enthusiasm,he wants to run before he can walk.He gets points for having big balls but his got to take his time and not make the kind of mistakes that he did when he fought Thompson.Hopefully with the increase in weight his conditioning should get better.

I agree with Scurla, Haye prefers the sound of of being a heavyweight, so i beleive he has made himself one, maybe a year or two sooner than he would have naturally. Lucky for him the div is wide open, and even ofr a shaky pumped up cruiser, he still has a solid chance at a world belt.
