Being heavier will not help him rather opposite. So decision to come light is wise. Will it help him win? I do not think so. The good thing - it will prolong fight for some time.
I see that Wlad is coming lighter then usual as well.

Would Tyson, in his prime, at around 210lbs, beat Waldimir?

    My best guess is yes.

I'm not saying Haye is Tyson, or anything like it, but immediately above 200lbs the weight isn't defining, the delivery of the punches are, because at those weights, they ALL count.

My point being, I don't think the weight is as big an issue as is being made out, Manny has beaten much bigger opponents with speed, agreed, this is slightly different, but I'm sure Haye and Booth have a plan, and subsequently, Wlad' and ES do too.

Let's just get excited about it shall we?

As a note, i'm hoping Haye wins, but just can't see it. Wlad, late stoppage. (Sorry Dave)

Please CHEF i beg of you, tell Wlad he should go for the KO before round 12, or this fight will likely be a dreadfully-dull snoozefest which will harm the popularity of boxing, courtesy of Mr. Haye. :dead

Tyson was NEVER 210lbs in his pro career, why make stuff up? :patsch

Prime Tyson was 216-221lbs, and he would come in @ 221lbs of pure muscle for fighting Wlad.

Gotta remember though haye couldn't spar cos of a cut against Ruiz and said training didn't go perfectly then. So maybe the 222lbs is deceptive. He also said he had an ideal training camp against A-Force and he came in light then. Just some food for thought

I think you may be surprised at Haye's weight...

I think he's going to look so much better than those videos from a month ago.

I don't buy the nonsense that Haye was 222lbs for Ruiz due to decreased sparring. Are you people really in the belief that Haye uses sparring to drop weight? I believe Haye trains his way up to such a weight, by bulking-up on purpose. Haye looked at his best against Ruiz, i've never seen him look better at Heavyweight. Haye still possessed good speed & knockout power in the 9th round at that higher weight, so i also don't buy the "he was gassed" silly idea either.

I don't know, but i certainly hope so.

I suggest you send a PM to CHEF, he might reply if you're polite, despite how busy he is.

Being light is a good thing for Haye. He's gonna need his speed, mobility & stamina against Wlad

Haye's not a big HW...he should come into the fight at a weight he's comfortable at. Wald doesn't cope well with speed and Dave's got a lot of it. The more the better.

The fact that Wald does hold alot which is key for his style....that may cause problems for a "lighter" Haye, but if dave fights the right fight...it's gonna be hard fro Wald to latch on enough to drain the smaller man over the course of the fight.

I can't bet against Wald based on not seeing enough of Haye at HW against guys that would have any shot against Wald. He's done well with the guys he's faced but none are on the level of either Klit.

Haye is probably the most dangerous foe Wald has faced in years which makes for a very exciting fight. I'm pumped up for this oen.

On Friday July 1st, if Haye weighs-in below 210lbs, then i'm so sure he will use his (guaranteed to fail) "run & pot-shot" tactics of sheer boredom which shall stink the joint out, that i will switch to supporting Wladimir & his "50th Knockout" campaign.
