I'm baffled has to why people think you can still have the same speed and timing at 36 as you did at 30 especially if you haven't had a competitive fight in that time. Age slows you down, it's a biological fact. Footballers who are in their absolute peak of physical fitness start to lose a yard of pace and timing as they go into their early 30's. Can you imagine if a footballer quit at the age of 30 then came back at 36...do you think they'd come back the same, no matter how much they apparently trained?

Bellew might boil your p1ss, and I think people are struggling to see past that. He might look podgy, he might not be the best fighter to watch stylistically but he's been active and he's at his peak. Do you think he's just gonna wait in the corner to be knocked out like the last 2 fella's?

Think a lot of its down to mcguigans training. Hes meant to work them hard. Plus haye claiming to know what works for him. Think hes turned vegan as well the last few years and apparently been training most of the time hes been out of the ring. Looks a good bit leaner. Plus think hes on to something with the heat in miami for him personally. I m sure i read in his book he wasnt the easiest to motivate to get him to train. Would have quite a lot of lethargic days in the gym etc. Seems to react well when training in the hotter climate.

And theres always the peds angle. Maybe hes just found better peds...if he is on them in the first place anyway.

I ll agree that at 36 its usually the things that start to dwindle the reflexes etc. But think its not impossible to keep your speed for longer nowadays with good reflex training etc. Look at mayweather and khan. Even khans speed should be on the downward spiral at thirty. They ve both lost speed but it was more down to moving up in weight than age by the looks of it. Both still plenty fast especially mayweather/pacman at 38.

Haye sounds pretty confident about a new improved version tho...guess we,ll find out soon enough. Agree about the last part about bellew. People not giving him enough credit atm. Hes not just gonna go in the corner like the last two guys did. He,ll make haye work for it.

Like any haye fight...the early knockouts always a good shout. But wouldnt surprise me if its not quite as easy as a lot think. Tony is awkward in their. Not always easy to knockout an opponent quickly that comes to spoil either.

Thing is Bellew is 34, not as naturally fit...Haye has clearly been training while out...so I don't think there is a lot to read into it...

Haye is that much better than Bellew that even at 70% of his prime he wins, let's be honest...

Bellew has done well to be WBC champion, no one would've predicted it...but let's be real...

Only way he wins is if Haye is a complete shadow of his former self and I don't think he is....

I thought your last comment was a little harsh, Haye is absolutely minted, he's got his modelling, magazine articles, commentary work. He is probably the best role model for young guys. He is a legit celebrity who comes across as intelligent. With all his press conference antics, you know he could turn that all off if you wanted to if he was visiting the Queen. Many other fighters seem to be stuck in one personality. I'm not telling anyone to like him but I think he's continuing a great career in boxing. Basically, to me he is a total hero who I have massive respect for.

You are one strange individual, constantly referencing the Hillsbore tragedy. We get you dont like Liverpool/scousers, but using this as something to beat them with is pathetic.

There did seem to be 'some' sincerity in what Haye was saying about his injuries after the presser.

I know what it's like to have long term injuries, and what it's like when you finally get over them and stop feeling it anymore. Like Haye said it's mainly about building the muscle around the injury... and a lot of patience. If he's telling the truth we 'could' see a very good David Haye. Maybe even better in some ways.

I'd prefer that to be the case than Haye be a shadow of his former self and just go looking to cash out against Joshua anyway.

I'm guessing your Mrs said that she thought he was 'good looking for a boxer' or something like that once?

I think you will find it is Hillsborough, not Hillsbore. Just as the correct spellling would be Heysel not Hisil.

However I have never referenced Hillsborough in a post previously so jog on troll.

Surprise surprise you're getting beat down in yet another thread. Even more of a surprise that's it's a thread about Haye.

    What the...

Haye isn't minted, he's broke. Flat out broke. He got arrested in Dubai for fraud because he couldn't make a payment on a property development that's gone under. Also he's in the process of being taken to the cleaners by his ex-wife in what we in the UK call a "Ray Parlour". He also had to sell his London gym, and was auctioning off items from the gym on eBay to pay his creditors.

He's a z-list celebrity, who hangs around with other z-list celebrities. The guy has no class, and what's worse treats his OWN FANS like they are dummies. He did it with Fraudley PPV, he did it with Wlad and now he's doing it with this Bellew fight.

He's a joke, but if you want to think of him as an idol go ahead. Very low standards indeed.

The betting guys who put money down on a Haye win in the first 3 rounds, I personally think they lost their money already. (you guys think those odds would be the same if Joshua was in there with Bellew the first 3 rounds?) I know these odds on the first 3 rounds are to lure most guys in on this fight...

Bellew knows in the back of his mind that he could to get hurt badly in this fight, we're pretty sure of it. Haye repeatedly said in the media that Bellew will be carried out on a stretcher, it'll be a spectacular KO the Brits have ever seen, I'll cave his head in, I'll hurt him real bad etc. Those type of comments will make any man work hard and act cautiously, the fact that they both are of similar size and weight for this fight helps Bellew a lot...

I think Bellew will try to avoid getting dropped or hurt early by sticking to the 'move around' game plan for the first rounds. Bellew just wants to win and get home safely to his wife and kids, he said that many times over... deep down he knows this fight is a very dangerous one, so the fear of getting his career ended will make him stick to his game plan by moving around and avoid the early big shots.

Bellew knows his best chance to win this fight is to drag Haye in to the later rounds, like he said time and time again and it's the truth too.

So i think Bellew will not trade 'BIG' shots with Haye in the first rounds, he'll be super cautious and move a lot, and as a cruiserweight champ and the whole world watching him as the heavy underdog he'll try to avoid a early KO-Loss by all means necessary.

I know you guys think that Bellew can run but he can't hide..., but Haye knows that he's been rattled by Bellew and a a loss to Bellew would be very shameful and career ending, Haye will be cautious too he can't afford to go in and throw Hayemakers recklessly and potentially injure or out gas himself early in this fight.

This fight is about pride, usually these fights go to distance or later rounds ( Stiverne - Wilder / Chisora - Whyte / Joshua - Whyte etc).

I'm putting money up that this fight will go over 3.5 / 4.5 / 5.5 rounds, those odds are pretty safe i think.

    P.S
I'm no fan of both of these fighters, i just want to earn some quick cash.

    Good luck!
