Really its a compound movement if you read body building articles many body builders perform pull ups with a wide grip as part of back work out day. Proof you know nothing. High post count doesn't mean you are the oracle of knowledge know that.
Any bodyweight exercise is limited in terms of hypertrophy. Why? Because it's bodyweight. I don't need to read bodybuilding articles. I am qualified enough (for this conversation anyway). Which is also why I stated, "it is not exactly the greatest thing to be looking at doing" if you want to gain size, or 'get big', as you put it. Good job taking your time going away and reading all those bodybuilding articles to come back and reply. I'm sure it was worth it. :good
Dammit :-( So because I have a high post count, I don't have a chance of getting the upper hand in this debate?
Yes as can be seen from the amount of times Wlad, the hardest puncher in the division, dropped him....oh wait.
Dude, the guys right. Gymnasts are tiny. Id be shocked to be shown evidence of one being over 140, most of them are under 5'7 This guy is the current olympic all round champ and hes 55kgs (121lbs) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C5%8Dhei_Uchimura
It is a great exercise for taking the muscle groups entirely to failure. Qualified in spending all day on an online forum wow. I've trained with Jay Cutler previously as well as a couple of other fringe pros. I think I know a bit more about how to do this working out stuff then yourself :blurp
This is exactly what you said... ...your quote not mine. You're trying to sound like you know what you're talking, and you probably know a little...but you're wrong. I don't know why you keep bringing up spending all day on an internet forum. I post from home, I post from my phone when I can be arsed. I am a PT, I am a boxing coach. But yeah, you've trained with Jay Cutler, which means you could never be wrong. I will say again, BODYWEIGHT is limited in terms of hypertrophy unless it is combined with other weighted exercises, or you add weight to a bodyweight exercise.
Sorry man , but that is an absolute classic, the guy said that male Gymnasts weigh 50kgs wet through , I said show me a male gymnast that weighs 50kgs , and you say he is right because you found a gymnast 11lbs heavier than 50kgs???
Well yes, there are plenty of gymnasts who weigh about 50kgs. 60kgs would be a massive gymnast. Are you really going to make a massive victory out of 5kgs? If you ever watched gymnastics you'd know this. That guy is about average. In other words, theres some smaller and some bigger than him. Point of the story is that gymnasts are tiny for the most part. and about half the size of David Haye
Man youre a good guy I have spoken with you before , but the Japanese boy who won gold is very small for a gymnast , Louis Smith weighs over 12st . On average they are around 63 - 67 kgs. Also my point wasnt against you , just some nit wit who didnt know what he was talking about. Peace.
No prob man. I think the general point i was just trying to make is that, that many chins for a guy that size is pretty good. Not other worldly like some guys here are saying, but still quite decent.
