I think if Hopkins beats Jones, steps up to Cruiserweight and takes on Danny Green and wins impressively then we could see it, and it would hopefully be a much closer contest than I think.

    Haye for the win.

Cant see it happening to be honest. If it did haye would probabl win.

I know Hopkins is up there in p4p ratings, but i actually see haye loosing the majoirty of rounds but then winning by KO.

He has far to much power and speed

Why would Haye want this fight? Hopkins is still a very tricky character, and if Haye lost it would destroy his credibility - everyone would focus on the fact that it was to a 45 year old former middleweight...and not that he is still a genuine top 10 p4p fighter. If Haye wins, people will draw the same conclusions. It's a no-win fight, so I just dont see it happening unless Hopkins seriously impresses at Cruiserweight this year, and maybe get's a decent HW win under his belt...still doesn't make much sense.

Like I said, I dont believe it, no idea why Haye would want the fight, but a certain British promoter / ex-boxer claims it will happen this year.

Cant see this one going ahead,Hopkins is not stupid,he has had a great career and hardly ever been hurt.If Hopkins fights again he will want to be the guy with a little bit of a weight advantage as he was with Pavlick, not giving away 2 stone.

Now I am a big Hopkins fan, but this doesn't seem to be very realistic, Haye is just as fast as he is, if not faster and he is bigger and stronger. Hopkins would get KO'd if they fought. Personally I want to see Danny Green Move up and fight Haye, so the ****ing Australians will shut up about him being better than Hopkins.

The hype and promotion for this would be brilliant. From Haye's POV its a big name for his resume and he will probably make a lot of money from it

Anything that gets in the way of a Klitschko-Haye fight is a bad thing though

I heard similar rumours last year. Hopkins mentioned Haye as an opponent if he was to beat Wlad earlier last year, when the fight didnt happen, the rumour stopped. It makes perfect sense for the rumours to start again now he has a belt.
It'll be interesting to see the press tour, Hopkins is one of Hayes heroes, so he'll probably be uncharacteristically nice.
