Probably a good fight. Lots of big punches exchanged. I think Qawi was a bit tougher and more durable but he was also getting up there in age by his cruiserweight days. And Haye was the bigger man. It would be interesting
Given haye's suspect chin & stamina @ cw + the degree of success Mormeck had getting inside & doing some damage, I would favor Qawi to stop him, perhaps even steamroll him.
Qawi. Stood with uncle Foreman for 7 rounds, went the distance with both Mike Spinks & Evander Holyfield, back when they had 15-rounder championship fights.
Haye went life and death with shorter pressure fighters like Mormeck, Fragomeni. Qawi is considerably above their level at his best and he would wear down Haye who has suspect stamina and stop him between 8-10.
Qawi at 190lbs, Haye at 200lbs. At 190lbs Qawi would get into mid and close range, where Haye’s defence isn’t tight enough, he finds the chopping rights over the top and bodyshots when Haye slips and rolls. At 200lbs, Qawi isn’t big enough to do damage and Haye controls the fight.
Eh - Haye is probably like 210lbs, is as fast and hard hitting as you get so I’m not sure the natural 175lber will hold up on a blitzkreig but his better skills probably pull him through???
