I am well aware of his early 3rd round KO loss to journeyman Lee Swaby

But Enzo Maccarenelli claims he was out drinking the night before pissed up and when he fought the next night in the ring he still had a bad hangover!!!!
and during the fight he was thinking too much about the fight but where he was going to go after the fight with the boys out on the town and what clubs they were going too.

he wernt concentrating and caught with a sucker shot

his mind was more on going out on the town drinking than boxing

YES I AM AND IM GONNA SMASH HAYE IN THE REMATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:lol:

No only joking - I am not Enzo.

But I am from Swansea and down here in Swansea Enzo Maccarenelli is Swansea's top fighter.

He is always in the South Wales Evening post and in the paper they regarded him before the Haye fight as the worlds best crusierweight.

Obvioulsy boxing fans would know that he had not proven that.

but if you are a casual reader the message was Enzo was number 1

i dont even know Enzo - seen him about a few times.

but follow his career with intrest cos he is a local fighter

Enzo is an overrated paper champ who fought a bunch of nobodies apart from Braithwaite, which was a decent win. He got totally exposed in 1.5 rounds against Haye and would get banged out again early.

or was it just that he made a mistake and didn't stick to the gameplan?

    I was only kidding:good

My better half comes from mid glamorgan and she is a huge Maccaranelli fan and because of that so am i.

But in reality i dont see anything that Enzo can do that Haye wouldnt be able to cope with......sadly:good

As everyone who did not buy into Warrens crap and as Haye himself predicted, it was speed that was the biggest issue.
Mac was always slower than Haye and only dickhead Enzo Calzaghe and a few blind ESB posters thought otherwise.

Mac did throw punches, he threw his favoured left hook, he threw right hands, and Haye slipped them and when they threw at the same time, Haye was quicker and beat him to the punch.

Of course if Enzo landed flush Haye would be in trouble, but he never looked like doing so and he would struggle to ever do so because Haye is the faster, more skilled fighter.

It panned out exactly how I thought it would do.

apparently Enzo Calzaghe said he didnt stick to the game plan - otherwise David Haye would have been retired.

    oxing

    I come from Swansea

Enzo Maccarenelli comes from a place about 5 or six miles from me.

But Swansea's best ever fighter - Colin Jones - in my picture - lives down the road from me - he learnt to box at the boxing club behind my back garden when he was a kid.

what would have Joe Calzaghe been thinking ringside as he saw Haye smashing in Maccarenelli in the corner?

I think it's unfair to write off Enzo like a few of the haters on here. You can't judge a fighter's performance after two rounds. The punch Haye landed was quick enough to hit the best reflex boxers (at Cruiser anyway!) and hard enough to damage the toughest chins.

The problem was the ref didn't rule a knockdown when Enzo's gloves touched the floor and allowed Haye to follow up with another banger that ended the fight as Enzo was trapped in the ropes. A standing 8 count after the first punch could have saved the fight and from there nobody can judge what could have happened if you believe the hype about Haye's dodgy chin.

Haye is an incredible talent, definitely one of the best Cruiserweights ever and so it's very harsh to judge Enzo on that result alone. Enzo should not be too keen to go straight for Cunningham and should think about fighting someone like Mormeck (if he hasn't retired) to boost his confidence and his pedigree. Bearing in mind that Haye will relinquish his titles soon it would be foolish to assume that Enzo won't be a champion again.
