I actually think this will be a terrific match-up. Ruiz is a far more aggressive fighter these days, the critics - and they are legion - should judge him on his last 3 or 4 bouts. I was lucky enough to interview him in the week before his bout - he's a decent fella too. One thing I do firmly believe is that he's an under appreciated contender, more willing than most to mix it with whoever is put in front of him. I'm pleased Haye is fulfilling his obligations to Ruiz rather than avoiding him in a quest to land the "bigger" fights. Now, I'll open the thread to those who'll enjoy writing TUA in big letters, or clinch and grab, hugger....but hopefully one or two of you might give the old stager a second look. http://boxingwriter.co.uk/2009/11/10/john-ruiz-v-david-haye-will-be-a-thriller/
No way. Ruiz doesn't have the talent to beat ANY halfway decent fighter WITHIN the rules. It's why he had to cheat to "win" fights at the world class level.
I understand that there IS a rumor circulating that it was Don King who through in Ruiz' opponent's towel. I have yet to see the match first-hand, but if true....... Ruiz has always had an underrated, sneaky right hand. Could Haye take it? Is Haye as explosive at heavy as many think? I believe Haye/Ruiz will be fun.
It be exciting in the fact that Haye if with a healthy right hand will look to KO Ruiz and i think Ruiz won't get near to hugging him so he either get KTFO or will have to fight in a war to win the title.
DAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYM!!!!!!!!!!!! yikes:yikes Second punch thrown, second left landed, Ruiz shattered to pieces all over the corner!!!!!!!! yikesyikesyikes:yikes Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! Tua! :happy:happy:happy:happy:happy
Not gonna lie that last punch Tua threw was wrong. You can tell the guy is completely gone and yet Tua threw that vicious left. But I agree I'm actually looking forward to Ruiz vs. Haye. Haye will probably win it but either way Ruiz will give it his all so it should be fairly interesting.

whose to say it won't??? seriously thats exactly how I'd see a Haye-Ruiz fight playing out. For goodness sakes Ruiz is a guy who let RJJ a blown up LHW control the center of the ring. Haye will crush this guy.
Worse. Held excessively in virtually every fight he "won" at the world class level, and his degree of grabbing on for dear life makes Hatton's look minor by comparison. At least Hatton throws punches! Even worse, in several fights Ruiz blatantly overacted to force low blow calls, which got him crucial point deductions in one fight, allowed him to avoid getting counted as he should have been in another, and get a bogus DQ in another. In sum, the methods Ruiz used to "win" fights are illegal and disgraceful. He couldn't win WITHIN the rules, so he cheated.
