John Ruiz will be the best heavyweight Haye has fought, true Valuev was a mountain and I predicted he'd win, but Ruiz pound for pound is a far more rounded fighter than the Russian.

Haye will still hold the advantages of power, speed and home support so should be expected to prevail but I fully anticipate Ruiz coming to throw shots and it could be interesting.....how many times has Ruiz been decked by headshots outside the Tua fight?

    Officially?

Well, once against Toney and twice against Golota. There should have been at least one knockdown against Holyfield and possibly two (10th round 2nd fight, 1st round 3rd fight I think) but Ruiz got away with them.

Outside of the Tua loss, he's never been stoppage. Not so much due to a great chin but because Ruiz tends to be very good at protecting himself when hurt or negates taking more than one or two shots at a time, often with his best octopus impression.

But it is true that he's much less of a jab & grabber than he used to be. Pretty much since the first Valuev loss he's gone to be more aggressive style.

That isn't necessarily a good thing against Haye, of course. It could end up like the RJJ fight except with a heavier puncher, and Ruiz several years older too.

I think Haye is going to mess Ruiz up badly. He has the footspeed to move out of the way and sort of use Roy Jones tactics to beat Ruiz but with added power and size. He will knock Ruiz out spectacularly imo.

    Should be a good fight.

    Haye KTFO Ruiz round 5
