Both in their primes who wins? I think if Haye survives the early onslaught he stops Briggs late on. Thoughts ?

Haye was better than Briggs. Briggs has the early power, but I think Haye can avoid the power and win a UD.

Briggs had fast hands early and was a big puncher - he was tuff too and the bigger guy.
The Briggs who lost to Lewis probably stops Haye in a fun shoot out.

The only time Haye fought a prime top class heavy in Wlad he fought very negatively

    Briggs for me

    I agree I think.

Haye really did very little at Heavyweight not that Briggs was anything to write home about either. But Briggs was bigger, did hit hard and was fast for his size. I'd see him impose himself on Haye and Haye to go into his shell and lose a clear decision in a bout that gets sloppier as it goes on. Neither guy had great endurance or amazing chins so they're evenly matched basically and skillwise they both relied a lot on athletic ability and weren't technically amazing. Briggs being the natural heavyweight gets my vote though without much confidence.

Haye has the superior footwork and would be way too far away from Shannon for Briggs to land a big shot. And of Briggs cannot land a big shot---who see's him winning?

Horrible bout to watch and like zero action for the first 5 or 6 rounds. Tons of posing though. And tons of shaking a right hand. Hardly anything landing though. Haye would be fainting from like 6 feet away. and that would still get Briggs to react to it and not throw.

Somehow--via minor miracle---Briggs would still get fatigued. Then, Haye would up his own punch output and land in double figures. Which would be enough to win on the scorecards.

So an ST Gordon--Berbick type heavyweight bout for excitement. Tons of trash talking and the action would be about 5% of the talk

I think prime Briggs stops him.
