"He is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I have watched Lord of the Rings and films with strange looking people, but for a human being to look like he does is pretty shocking." - Haye on Valuev.
That was funny as hell. So is Haye the only one selling the fight again. Wheres valuevs contribution eh?
Considering this fight will only have substantial viewers in a handful of countries you can almost gurantee he will have a percentage of the Sky Box Office money.
I dont understand some of his talk, so You may be right. The fact is that he looks so gay in that programme and he is talking about Valuev beauty. Men mainly talk about masculine beauty, when they are homosexuals. I dont say that Haye is a gay, but he looks like. No offence to homosexuals, but boxing is a sport with body contact.
It appears its "only" on PPV in the US and UK. It wouldn't surprise me if Haye was able to secure a sizable cut of the UK PPV income (after network fees and promoters cut). He generates it with his antics and media whoring on UK TV networks. Valuev doesn't help with that. Now the US revenues for PPV, maybe Valuev gets the lion share there. I doubt it's much, who in the US is going to pay for this fight? Valuev makes between 1-1.5m EUR per fight, guaranteed. No PPV variables. Not surprisingly for the challenger, Haye will make a fraction of that. Will the PPV numbers be released to the public? I am curious if Haye's media campaign will pay off.
I expected him to say Gorilla or Big Foot, you guys want to bet Valuev throws jabs in the air and gets rounds scored for him in Germany? Hell, Valuev can go there and throw nothing and he will get points scored for his body odor. Valuev WON'T win this or ANY half decent fight without a daylight robbery.
What Ali did to Frazier, who more fully embodied the black experience in America than Ali, was reprehensible. Don't make this into an America vs Britain thing, it isn't. Ali was a true ******* for what he did to Frazier, especially after Frazier did so much for him.
Yeah Im curious to see the figures aswell. I wouldn't be surprised if it did quite well, purely out of sick curiostiy of the casual sports fan, let alone casual boxing fan. Also it it worth noting that the antics Haye has been heavily criticised for has been reaching the sports pages on the tabloids, so casuals know about it. BskyB is a publicly traded company, so the figures will have to be published at some point in the future.
Valuev's hair and sweat will be an advantage. Getting tied up is going to ****ing suck for Haye. When he tries to pullback BAM! Counter from Valuev, and down he goes
