We've probably ,maybe seen the last of David Haye in the ring ,how'd you think he'd have done up against these big hitters? Razor Ruddock ? Tommy Morrison ? Earnie Shavers ? Ron Lyle ? Gerry Cooney ?
I feel Lyle and Cooney would of been too much for Haye, David couldn`t of given Foreman the kind of problems that Lyle did and Cooney did better v Holmes than Haye would of, Shavers couldn`t box but punched a lot harder than Haye. David was knocked out by a shitty cruiser like Thompson.
In his prime, he might well have got guys like Morrison, Shavers, or Cooney before they got him, based upon hand speed.
I like Haye's chances a bunch against Cooney. Too quick and he'd use those legs in there. Turn him. I like his chances against Ruddock as well. Razor would fight stupid and turn what should be an easy fight into a big struggle===footwork fight again. Morrison is a toss up. Tommy is not taking the big fast shots from the Hayemaker. And David is not absorbing what Morrison dishes out either. Probably like Haye's handspeed and footwork to tip the scales in a short exciting fight. Shavers and Lyle catch him.
Haye is a gun shy type of fighters vs bigger guys or big hitters. He was just taken apart by a former light heavyweight. I don't think he'd engage enough to give himself the best chance to win, and I'm sure he would not be able to take it either. He's got a puncher's chance.
Good picks ,more or less same as what I was thinking. Cooney is stopped in 11 Ruddock is stopped in 8 Morrison KO'd in 6 Lyle stops Haye in 7 Shavers kos Haye in 6 after being tagged him self. Haye is knocked cold .
That Morrison bout is the toughie. We could say if Tommy fought Haye and Hide, he goes 1-1. Pick the winner and pick the loser, but Tommy catches one of them and it's lights out. I could just picture Ruddock hurting the guy badly and then not capitalizing. Trying to throw like 4 consecutive lefthooks while crossing the ring from one set of ropes to the other. Plus, his customary 20 punches a round and doing nothing for like 2 minutes of each round. All while Haye is hurt----everyone in the arena see's it and senses it. But Razor doesn't. His corner telling him to jab or throw the right hand or cut off the ring & numerous other simple instructions to no avail.
Ruddock and Morrison are toss ups. Depends how each fighter approaches the other. Haye KO's Shavers. Too much skill and speed. Haye loses to Lyle in a shootout, unless he runs around the ring and tries to take it on points. Lyle had a lot of dog in him, and wouldn't have gone down easy. Cooney I think gets KOed in a cagey fight where Haye catches him and drops him hard in the mid rounds.
