    Dear Friends
    kind regards
Today we continue with our David Haye Fantasy Warfare 10 match special.
David Haye is the WBA World Heavyweight champion after he outboxed the Giant Nikolai Valuev.
Jess Willard was a big giant with a good jab and fierce punching power, it was these abilities that saw him end the title reign of Jack Johnson in 1915.
Who wins between David Haye and Jess Willard over 12 rounds?
Would David be able to slay another Goliath?
Or would Jess Willard be too much for the new kid on the block?
If you could give me your views and contribute to the polls I'd appreciate it.
    yours thankfully
    John

Haye wins to fast and hits to hard, willard got johnson at the right time and dempsey showed the world how to beat willard.

Even though haye is bigger and more powerful then dempsey he takes longer to slay the beast, possibly tko 5 rounds imo.

Dont get me wrong willard can ko haye but i just don't see it haye wins 9 times out of ten

Willard's the most underated champ in history-ive seen all his fights.Well ,the 1st round v Dempsey and he looked pretty good in that when he wasnt being battered to the canvas.

Haye ko 1 Willard Willard is to slow and would not be able to keep Haye off him. Alot like his fight with Dempsey, but Haye does it in the 1st.

Willard is underrated, he had some good victories besides over Johnson. Haye, despite his debatable victory over Valuev, is still somewhat unproven at HW, and his chin REMAINS questionable. I think Willard knocks him out, probably before the middle rounds.

    Willard KO 6

Willard maintained to the day he died that Dempsey had loaded gloves. For the rest of his life he had a bone chip in his cheek.

    Like who?

Willard was 37 year old, out of shape and hadn't fought a noteworthy opponent for three years when he faced Dempsey. Yes, the matter in which Dempsey won was spectacular, but realistically, Willard was nothing special (except for his size), and in horrible condition.

Id pick Jess or Primo Carnera over Valuev anyday.Who knows-Dempsey may have had loaded gloves. Was certainly one hell of a beating.

    Dear anarci
    kind regards
The idea of David Haye knocking out Jess Willard in round 1 is laughable.
Lets look at the facts, Dempsey put Willard down with his famed left hook and Willard got up from a punch that would have finished most men off.
Then Dempsey knocked Willard down six times by not allowing him to get to his feet, it was a joke by today's standards.
Dempsey is one of the all time great, but the way that he was allowed to win the title was outrageous.
The point is that by todays boxing standards it would have taken Dempsey a few more rounds to put Willard away.
David Haye's punching power cannot be compared to Jack Dempsey so your prediction doesn't hold much water although I so appreciate you taking the time to give it.
    yours thankfully

Frank Moran and Arthur Pelky were decent opponents, probably his best victories outside of Johnson. Sure, Willard was nothing special, but how is Haye anything special at HW?

My prediction is more based on Haye's unproven record at HW and his questionable punch resistance.

Haye would beat him IMO. I'm not too big on Dempsey to be honest, Hayes caginess would allow him to get off first, his handspeed and power getting Willard out of there in a few rounds. If it were Wills vs Haye, I think Wills would stop him.

Willard is an underrated champ, that being said, I think Haye beats him by mid round TKO.

    Please!!

Can get a moratorium on David "Tomato Can" Haye threads. And for that matter, all threads about the heavyweight divison until such time as a true talented heavyweight fighter emerges and not some glorified bum.

    Agreed!

    And i'm a Haye fan!:happy

Please let us wait until possible future fights with the Doctors or even John Ruiz for that matter before comparing Haye with past greats IMO despite slaying a (very poor on the night) goliath he hasn't really done an awful lot in the division has he?:rasta
