David Haye vs a prime Corrie Sanders

Sanders ko in 6.A big southpaw with a great punch (maybe susceptable in the chin department) beats the david haye at heavyweight upto now for me but its early days for him at heavy.

 

Vitali isn't a big puncher.

Haye would have to be cagier than he's ever been to stand a chance at winning this one. The key would be making every shot count, but fighting sparingly. Allowing Sanders to throw any of his fast combinations sees Haye sparked whenever it happens.

From what we've seen so far and what we know of Haye, I really don't think he matches up well H2H at Heavy or against the best 190-200lb fighters from history.

And Sanders is C+ at best. Jerry Quarry would decimate Haye for one.

 

Taking big punches from Vitali isn't that impressive. Even Danny Williams lasted a while after getting smashed about and I don't think Danny ever had a rock solid set of whiskers. He's not an explosive hitter by any means.

Definitely two dodgy chins, big punchers, could go either way. I'd probably favour Haye slightly just being the slightly classier and more consistent fighter over his career.

 

True but a devestating heavywieght puncher against somebody as easy to hit as danny should knocking them unconscious tbh

 

Yeah, exactly. Which suggests to me that Vitali is a heavy handed guy that throws a huge volume of punches for a big man. He's capable of throwing upwards of 800 which is a lot for a guy of that size.

You wouldn't see guys like Gomez taking shots, Williams able to get up time and time again, Sosnowski etc from a Foreman, Lewis, Tyson, Shavers, Joe Louis type puncher, not in a million years. Even his brother is a far more concussive puncher when he puts them together, unfortunatey he under ultilizes his powerful left-hook.

 

I think Haye's a little more of a 'dangerous' overall puncher because its a different type of power. Vitali is probably very heavy handed because of pure weight and he does throw a lot so he wears them down.

But he's not as crisp of a puncher as Haye, not as fast so he doesn't catch you with much you shouldn't see.

Especially these days, Vitali is not as powerful as he used to be either. I think Haye does more damage with his punches considering he's not very liberal with his punch output.

Wlad's a superior puncher to both because he gets the leverage, speed AND has the added advantage of being a bigger man. He can really spark guys out which Vitali and Haye seem incapable of at heavyweight.
