Thtas nothing to do with who's got more experience and i am not sure if feather fisted chris byrd punch's harder than mormeck.
Povetkin was a heavyweight ever since taking pro kickboxing title, before starting his boxing career and utterly dominating amatuers for several years. His punch and chin are at least decent at heavyweight - you would not dominate as he did without it, headgear or not. I would need to see more of Haye, but at heavy this would be a mismatch at this point. Povetkin by KO.
How does he have more pro experiece than haye who is the cruiserweight champion that doesn't make any sense.
This will be a very exciting fight however Haye needs to tighten up his defense a little. He backs up with his left hand down and good heavyweights will make him pay.
Povetkin my early to mid round KO. He has better speed, footwork, defense, and is much more compact and accurate with his shots. Haye has also been rocked or stopped by much much smaller and not nearly as hard hitting opponents. If Fragomeni could consitently get to him and wasn't being kept off by Haye's vaunted power, and if Mormeck and Mock could drop him with Thompson TKO'ing him I just don't see how he beats Povetkin at this point. No decision, Povetkin by KO.
I have seen quite a lot of video of both and Povetkin is clearly faster. Also Donald has greater reach than Haye and didn't seem to pose any problem to Povetkin. While we are at it what about Fragomeni and Mormeck's consistent ability to get to Haye?
i think haye's conquerer at heavyweight would be samuel peters or wlad. there's no evidence that povetkin can land one punch ko's against anyone decent. i thik hayes too much of a range puncher to be troubled by povetkin IMO
There is no evidence Peter can land one punch KO's on anyone decent either. You also completely ignore Chagaev, the man who beat Virchis, Ruiz and Valuev virtually in a row and has shown a tremendous chin and world class punch. Povetkin also has the third highest KO percentage in the heavyweight division amongst top rated contenders so let's not play this Povetkin doesn't have power game because when the only top guys who have more KO's than you are Klitschko and Virchis you aren't doing that bad.
i agree that povetkin would not likely stop haye w/one punch. it's povetkin's constant pressure and punching that will test haye. does haye have enough in the tank to box and defend for 12 rounds against that kind of workrate? Does Povetkin have the chin to take haye's best shot? Pretty intriguing matchup if u ask me.
Also, Chief_Second, while you are talking about Haye's power you are talking about someone who is a cruiserweight. Don't use Bonin as an example of his heavyweight power because no one takes Tomasz seriously and it wasn't as if he had his man out he just had his equilibrium shot. Fragomeni took flush shots for nine rounds before going down. Mormeck, a notorious gasser and accumulation fighter was able to drop him hard and everyone knows he ran out of gas in the sixth.
Povetkin by rather easy and early KO. Haye is defensively not that strong, and he can't slug it out with Povetkin.
