Povetkin has been looking real lackluster lately.

I believe a good part of this is because of his opposition tho. Hes fighting guys with little to no risk involved.....He just goes in the ring, already KNOWING hes going to win. Whilst when fighting guys like Byrd or Chambers, he HAS to be on his top game.

I think if Povetkin would to step up to a guy like David Haye, he would fight better than say he did against Firtha or Oruh....

Not saying he would win tho, cause this is a pick em fight imo.....only because Povetkin has been looking like **** recently tho. David Haye is very beatable.

For now id prolly pick Haye by UD.

Two chickens from HW... I regret Haye fights once per year or so and Povetkin has troubles against Firtha.

Povetkin from Chambers fight KOs Dave, but I got no hope in him no more, so I voted for Haye's KO.

Haye hardly throws any punches lately so it's hard to say whether he would or wouldn't tire. Stamina has been an issue for Haye but never for Povetkin.

Haye vs. Arreola would be a decent fight, better than Haye vs. Mormeck II

Povetkin by KO. I just don't see how Haye can survive Povetkin's relentless pressure.

the obvious choice is haye by kayo.

in his recent fights (albeit against poor opposition, but then again aside from wlad and chambers, who else takes on good opposition these days?) he has looked more and more untouchable.

he beat an in shape ruiz with no sparring and beat harrison without taking a punch. povetkin, by contrast has fought even worse opposition and not looked good doing it.

that being said, as **** as povetkin looks right now, he is a genuine top 5 contender as proveen by his wins over byrd and chambers. although i would fancy chambers in a rematch.

the truth is ya know, a lot of the top ten are **** atm.

aside form the beltholders, you have adamek who still looks vulnerable and still looks like he's lacking pop. chagaev/povetkin who haven't performed well in years. valuev who is semi retired now.

now chambers looke average in his comeback fight but i'll put that down to rust and psychological fear then there is solis, who to be fair, has looked awesome i think.

so ya know i wouldn't really expect anyone outside of the beltholders to beat haye because all have shown weaknesses (aside from solis who i rate ridiculously high and believe is the best current heavyweight).

what i'd love to see is a 4 way tourney

chagaev v povetkin, adamek v chambers.

haye should fight wlad (or wlad should fight haye, however you view it) and vitali should fight solis.

we could have there an 8 man unofficial tourney leading to a full unification and a defence against a proven top contender.

as it is, i'll settle for vitali - solis, wlad - adamek and haye - povetkin.

i hope to see solis, adamek and haye win. i expect to see solis, wlad and haye win.

so on one hand povetkin is pretty much as credible as it gets outside of the belt holders, but don't expect much from him on fight night. he'll bring it early, haye will run and pot shot. eventually around round 5/6 one of haye's counters will stagger pov, haye will go in for the kill and the fight will be over.

will it make haye any more credible? hard to say, his resume would be fairly strong, but those who are his fans wopuld be expecting him to win anyway and those who don't give him credit already are unlikely to due to the nature of povetkins recent opponents.

as for me? well i don't think it changes much. it might say something about the mentality of him as a champ in taking on the best available contender, but for his legacy everyone knows without k's it is seriously lacking. even with k's it would be seriously lacking but atleast then he'd be a "what if" fighter rather than a "never was" fighter.

so take what you want from the build up and pov's achievements a couple of year back. but the truth, to me is that byrd was badly shot and chambers should have won that fight had he stayed focused. i don't really rate povetkin. he is where he is by virtue of a strong resume in comparison, but skillwise i don't see much in him.

    haye tko 6 povetkin.

    Haye would take this sadly

Povetkins resume is even worse than Hayes imo, people talk about him having a good chin, but really it's never even been seriously tested, and I dont think anyone except maybe vitali could blindly take flush shots off haye.

Add in that povetkin has been treading water and looking lacklustre recently, I see haye inside 8 rounds, after dropping povetkin in the 3rd and 5th rounds

hmmmm old byrd vs old ruiz. chambers vs valuev. not much in it resume wise, haye does have the edge tho i agree.

as far as contenders go, povetkin has one of the best resume's. between him, chag and chambers IMHO

Everything depends how good/bad will Povetkin looks like.

If Povetking have anything left from his prime years
(i.e. when he fought Byrd and Chambers 100 years ago)
then Haye is in a big touble, but we may see the reincarnation
of even shorter story of a Riddick Bowe's prime years
and Povetkin may turn to be an old & slow shadow of himself.
