The two young heavyweights, Alexander Povetkin and David Haye, would make one of the best possible matchups in boxing!

With Povetkin's aggressive, come-forward style and 75 punches per round, and Haye's explosive power, this would be an exciting fight. :bbb

Whats is chin like because if he gets tagged by an hayemaker it could be over very suddenly.

this is a fight that needs to happen. one will come out as legit contender and the other one will be exposed as a fraud. i'd slightly favor povetkin due to his workrate, toughness, and experience especially as a hw. i could see him wear Haye down to a late stoppage but this is a hard one to predict. this would sell me on either one as a legit hw.

By the time Povetkin finds the punch that would take Haye out, Haye will already have landed that hayemaker a couple of times. Povetkin's defence isn't good enough not to get hit and he is not fast and powerful enough to surprise Haye and lay him down. I am not sure that the pressure Povetkin applies is sufficient against Haye.

    Haye KO 6

I might lean towards David Haye. Povetkin would have to get inside effectively and outwork him in close, grinding him down.

I voted for Povetkin given that he had been hit by a true HW and never been hurt where Haye has been hurt by several CW.

Hayes power is sickening. Look at this wins he usually takes people out with one punch. Haye by easy KO in round 6, but if Povetkin can get in on the inside that could make it interesting.

Nah...Povetking would NOT be exposed as a fraud just because he cannot beat Haye!:-(

It's just that given Haye's style and Povetkin's style, Povetkin will be hard pressed to beat Haye. Povetkin has a better chance against Wlad, I think.

So...I think, Wlad is more likely to beat Haye than he is likely to beat Povetkin; Haye is more likely to beat Povetkin than he is likely to beat Wlad; Povetkin is more likely to beat Wlad than he is likely to beat Haye, imo.:good

    No one gets "exposed"...

Haye didn't lose to Thompson because Thompson was devastatingly powerful. He punched himself out and got done. Haye doesn't have the best chin in the world.

Povetkin does not have the kind of devastating power to kill Haye before Haye kills him, no. Povetkin doesn't win by KO-ing people. He is a swarmer. Look how he did in his last fight against a precise, fast fighter...couldn't stop him, could he? He got tagged a lot, though. Well, once the haymaker lands 5-6 times, Povetkin goes down, despite his good chin. It's what happens.

I think Wlad would beat Povetkin too...but only if he doesn't fight like a big girl's blouse, like last time around. If he fights like that both Povetkin and Haye beat him.

Even then, the jab would likely be too much and Povetkin would have trouble closing the gap.

Maybe...Povetkin is not the fastest in the world, to get past that jab...:think

Still...he's pretty good and would beat quite a few of the top HWs.
