If true, then I think it's a mistake. At the very least he should take 2 HW tune ups.

I think Povetkin would test Haye's chin with an accumulation of hard punches and eventually win a TKO.

Haye doesn't have Chamber's defensive skill, nor is he as quick a counter puncher. Povetkin is able to fight well defensively when he needs to, so he wouldn't leave himself open for a one of David's big haymakers.

This is a very intriguing fight. Part of me thinks Povetkin's workrate, stamina, and ring intelligence wears Haye down for a late TKO...the other part of me says Haye stuns Alex at range with a lead right and finishes him earlier in the fight. The longer it lasts, the worse it is for Haye because Povetkin would wear him down, taking the snap off of Haye's shots and leaving Haye's already leaky defense completely vulnerable. Because of that, I'd probably put it at 60% Povetkin TKO, 40% Haye TKO.

It's a fight I'd love to see, though.

    My God.

I cant believe all this hype!

Haye is a powerhouse and has speed and very good skills - but Povetkin is a true HW with a good chin, speed and a hell lot more. Povetkin would most likely win this by TKO in the later rounds - after wearing Haye down with pressure and a huge punch output.

Enzo and Povetkin arent excactly one of a kind. :-(

    Come on dudes!

It all depends on their chins, both which are unproven. But Povetkin's chin/stamina is much more proven right now, so I would take him.

If Povetkin's chin is as good as I think it is, then he will be able to take Haye's best shots and stop him after breaking him down on the inside and making him gas in the later stages of the fight. If Haye's chin somehow turns out to be very solid at HW and his stamina is better than it was at CW, then he would win. He would also beat anybody else at HW, including Wlad if his weak chin at CW was a result of draining weight.

Haye's being overhyped right now because of two wins over B level fighters who never had good chins and didn't have tough styles for him. Even though his potential is great, people are going a little overboard.

I like both fighters, but I agree with you- which is why I'm leaning towards Povetkin winning this. Beyond the fact he's more proven at HW, he also is a poor style matchup for Haye.

That said, there's still the chance Haye catches him with something, and Haye is a great finisher- but Povetkin should be the favorite.

I think at CW level only a blind man would not be impressed with Haye. However, how can anybody be so certain about him at HW, against a #5 guy, when he has not fought anybody yet absolutely kills me.

Povetkin TKO 4, Haye is unproven and nobody knows how'll he will be without actually seeing him fight a true HW.

One of the best matches in boxing for me right now.

Haye would win though, which of course would mean a stoppage as he knows nothing else.

Haye has good power, but he's knocking out cruiser weights. I'd like to see Hay fight a contender or two at heavyweight before hyping him into something he is not.
