Haye vs Povetkin would be a great fight and a good test for Haye at heavyweight. I favor Povetkin slightly.

Just to point out to you guys, Povetkin has been down all of once I believe in his entire boxing career-amateur and professional, in a career that took him to a World Championships Gold Medal, an OlympicGold Medal, and the top of the Russian amateur system; one of the srongest ones in the world. He's also faced very stiff opposition thus far as a pro and has yet to be phased by any punch I've seen. The one time he was down was against Islam Timurziev as an amatuer, and Timurziev is known for his power. Povetkin got off the floor to RSC his man, from what I recall. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he can take a punch.

This would be a fight I would be very interested in watching.
Haye, for all the recent talk of him being the second coming of christ, is the less skilled of the two fighters but with the advantage in power. Handspeed is pretty much even here.
I see Povetkin winning this late. He is so good at not letting the other fighter sit down on their punches. When Haye sets for his right, Sasha will have stepped inside to crowd the shot and club a combination to the body before sidestepping. Haye will be able to land but they will be speed shots not capable of Ko'ing Povetkin. That is what makes Povetkin so deceptively effective. He looks hittable and he does get hit but they are almost never full power shots. His angles and lateral movement are exceptional and he could really frustrate a fighter like Haye who is so reliant on the KO.

Povetkin has been a phoenominal heavyweight so far, so far ahead of schedule its untrue... He was facing hot active much avoided journeymen since his 5th pro fight, He hits effectively and takes limited risks and has been able to dispose of a very good class of opponent with reletive ease.. When he fails to ko opponents its not because he cant get rid of them but because its more beneficial to get long fights against class opponents in the long run. He is deceptive , his power is solid and its not his style to flash bang his way into the headlines, but the victories are result of the ends justifying the means.. He is Number 1 challenger for a reason.. He isn't anyones push over.. Haye is a fancy hairdo and a six pack.. He has power and class, but don't let it run away like a game of chinese whispers... Haye v Povetkin TOMMORROW .. is a win for the Sasha.. Haye v Povetkin in 2 years is or could be a more do able fight... Haye is a Cruiserweight, with borderline heavyweight power ... but a middleweight chin... I wouldn't let Povetkin loose on it quite yet , for Davids sake ...

    God Bless..

I'd say Haye stops him, but not easily.

Wlad does a number on Haye though.

I say Povetkin in about 6-8 rounds.

People need to stop going overboard about Haye, so far he has lost to Thompson, been knocked down by a supermiddleweight, beaten a on the slide Mormeck and a top 50 heavyweight in Bonin.

Povetkin has beaten Byrd, Chambers and a host of decent HEAVYWEIGHTS!

Haye might be the real deal but until he beats a heavyweight of note, lets all calm down:thumbsup
