Audley Harrison has once again just literally escaped from the last chance saloon against Michael Sprott. Most fans were writing his epitaph going into the final round with Sprott clearly the more aggresive fighter, showing a lot of guts and determination.

Harrison showed nothing of promise or serious threat. Its fair to say that the KO was brutal, but Harrison provided nothing in the way of desire or heart to show that he can match it with the best. Again. It was never more truly spoken than Jim Watt's comments on Sky Sports that Harrison is one of the most wasted Heavyweight potentials the UK has ever produced. Harrison has every attribute required to be a world champion except heart. Fear and terror are etched in his face every time a punch is thrown at him.

David Haye could be waiting for the Klitscho's for some time yet if the comments slowly emerging from all camps are anything to go by. What better opportunity for Haye than to take a fight in three to four months that the public would genuinely pay to see, simply to see Audley Harrison defeated once and for all. The boxing fraternity simply hate Harrison. Not only because of his mouth and arrogance, but because he has wasted what he has.

If Harrison fought against Haye in the manner he has done for his entire pro career, its likely to be over within a couple of rounds. For Haye, this is a golden opportunity to easily gain a strap which would give him a slight leverage in the alphabet world title rankings with the Klitscho's and make him even more popular with the public.

Lets face it though...Harrison will be fighting journeyman nobodies again when there really should be no turning back.

I seriously would not have a problem with this fight I assume it would do huge numbers in England and Haye would make a killing $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ wise.

the european title does nothing for david haye. haye is a world champion, so a euro title is a huge stepdown. the fight won't last long, probably a round or two before haye stops him as audley is way open for that right hand and he can't handle being in adversity.

personally, i see no point in haye fighting audley.

if Harrison wins his next couple of fights, then OK, but I don't see him winning again.

to be honest i'm not sure it would do that well. audley is regarded as a joke, and i think the sells would show that. the stadium might be sold out, but PPV sales i don't think will be that great.

    what?

this guy may crack the top 40 or 50 active HW's in the world, 38 years old, yet you think he'd be acceptable as an opponent of Haye?

'the european title does nothing for david haye. haye is a world champion, so a euro title is a huge stepdown.'

Fair Comment. For Haye though, if he dont get the Klitscho's, this fight would pull in the numbers in the UK and maybe could be used as a simple defence of his title and keep him in the public eye until a serious fight comes along.

Audley harrison will not command huge numbers in england most people never even heard of him.The idea that haye vs harrison would be huge here is quite frankly laughable.

Haye has already stated the two will never meet when they used to be m8s.

I posted last week that this would happen... Haye will take it for the money and enough people dislike Audley enough to make it financially viable..very very little risk for Haye..Audley will be TERRIFIED when Haye starts shelling him..Its sort of like a freak show match up..

Although..just imagine if Audley sparked him..we would never hear the end of it..Audley will become a bit of a cult legend if he beats haye for the title

I think the next obvious fight out there for Harrison would be Roy Jones, in a Berrara/Khan type way.

I realize that but I would assume it would do big numbers in the UK. If I am wrong some of the Brits here can correct me. People would pay just to see Harrison get brutally KOed and humiliated.

Well, would make sense moneywise but it would do nothing for Haye´s career. Perhaps as a stay busy fight. Haye would massacre Harrison. On the other hand I would laugh if Harrison would land a big right and knock Haye out, the possibility is nearly not existent but it would be very ironic.

Harrison is well known and they could turn it into a grudge match cos they have history with heavy sparring (haye butchered him)

Like it or not EVERYONE knows Harrison due to the Olympics. Haye could make enough £££ to keep him happy..free money

I would pay for the fight in High-Definition to see Haye end Harrison once and for all. But I accept a number of the comments that this idea may not be overly big enough for Haye.
