i keep hearing how haye is a world class fighter that may as well be, this is in the 2000-2010's weaker division, he knocks out slower less skillful cumbersome fighters. tua knocks out ruiz in quick fashion it took haye 9 rounds.

tua is slower than haye with less skills but devasting punch great power and an iron chin.

who would win?. david tua, is the obvious choice. but he also lost to the elusive chris byrd, haye is elusive and he'd run from a juggarnaut like tua.
tua didnt like lewis's power, haye hasnt got this sort of power but is quicker, but no range. tua didnt want it when he knew he couldnt get inside.

Haye likes to attack and get out in forays Tua would be coming all night and Haye would not be able to keep him off. Tua wears him down and stops him late.

Haye wins a stinker decision. Tua was not the most difficult fighter to outbox.

Haye... He could run and still easily outpoint Tua. It would be a complete stinker, but Haye could beat any version of Tua.

    Tua would knock him out.

To out-box and befuddle Tua you have to throw plenty of punches over the entire distance, you can't just run away, slip and slide and duck ... sooner or later he's going to catch you. Even if you do throw all those punches, he might catch you.

Haye might just get flattened in a round or two though.
Haye is probably the most consistently over-rated heavyweight I've known in 30 years of following boxing, and there have been plenty of hype jobs.

Chisora was able to somewhat bully Haye. Tua is like two Chisoras when it comes to bullying/pressure plus I think his chin would hold up to nearly (?) everything Haye has to offer. Then there is the stamina issue... Haye was able to last the distance with Wlad because it was a chess match. In the Tua fight, if it gets past 5, the constant, relentless pressure will pay off, I'm pretty sure. Tua KO mid-late rounds.

Haye UD or Tua KO at any time he catches him, which could well happen with those low hands.

Agree with that, mate. Tua would flatten Haye. So would a prime Holyfield, Tyson or Bowe. And quite a few more!

I have yet to see Haye run out of gas at HW and I don't think Tua is going to be the one to do it. I know its cool to hate on Haye, and rightfully so, he's an infuriating personality and fighter. Tua of course can catch him late, but I'm not banking on it.

Two fighters who are consistently over rated in head to head match ups on this forum. I wouldn’t weight the odds quite as heavily towards Tua, as most people seem to be doing.

Carl Thompson knocked out David Haye, so I figure that David Tua could turn the trick. Wladimir is cautious and conservative, while Haye ran from him and fought defensively, otherwise Wladimir would have turned his lights out too. Tua would not be cautious. He'd wade in slugging, taking damage in a war of attrition he's almost sure to win, due to his superior chin. Tua's not fancy but he'll get the job done.

I think Tua had a pretty solid chin and punched very hard, Haye has a big edge in speed but I think Tua's late stamina and power prove a point
