As it happens, I did see that fight about a fortnight ago when I was checking through some tapes.

I could've sworn Maccarinelli won TKO7, but my memory was playing tricks on me as I saw it go to the final bell. In fact, Braithwaite won the last round.

Macca has a reputation as a big puncher, and normally lives up to that, but totally agreed that Braithwaite looked utterly tired by around the 7th and Enzo just didn't seem to want to push for the finish. Perhaps he was being wary...that would not be advisable against Haye.

My official pick is Haye TKO8.

Yeah true enough. The other side of it would be that if Enzo won, Warren would keep the titles locked away for a few years to milk it. But he'd probably be stripped unless he fought mandatories.

Either way, there are some very good fights to be made in the near future. It's just a shame this is gonna be Haye's last fight at 200.

Under Warren?? There is definitley gonna be a gimme fight if Enzo does the business. I just can't see him taking on a top fighter straight away. But hopefully i'm wrong. I'd love to see him fight Cunningham next actually. Win or lose.

i think a lot of people on this forum are being pretty harsh on enzo, calling him all sorts of names ( arrogant , ***** etc) . hes a pretty nice guy who has never ducked anyone. it was steve cunningham who said no to fighting him in november. he can only fight whos put in front of him. if ya gona slate anyone slate warren! im picking haye to win by bodyshot mid fight. they looked punishing against mormeck!!1 although i have changed my mind on the outcome twice already!!!

Obviously you are kinda new to boxing. No shame in that, you will learn a lot pretty quick. But believe me, It dont matter who is in your corner when you are taking shots from one of the hardest punchers in the world.

Also, Enzo has a shaky chin. I dont think many are tough enough for Haye, his power is freakish. Macca certainly is not tough enough to go the distance with Haye landing shots, believe me. And Haye will land.

Macca could as well though.....and we all know what that means.

Bollocks!! I'm going to be in New Zealand for the cricket test matches during March. Can't see the Kiwis having it on their telly.

I really like David Haye. He's a throwback fighter who will fight anybody. But he really REALLY struggles to make the weight and even if he's the best cruiser in the world, he looked rather poor against Mormeck, due 100% to his ever more difficult struggles to make the weight. This problem makes the fight a lot harder to predict. If the fight was at, say 210pounds, Haye would wipe the floor with Enzo, but at 200 with Haye killing himself to make the weight,I'd say this is a 50/50 match up. Both men hit extremely hard

That is how I see it. Haye is the much better fighter but the weight problems mean this is a huge risk.

Credit both guys for taking this. It's a hell of a matchup. Cruiserweight is really blowing up.

It's tougher and tougher for Haye to make weight and Enzo is a solid right hand puncher, something tells me he will weather Haye's power early and take him out in the middle rounds with a big right hand.

I'll take the unpopular upset, Maccarinelli by TKO in 7.

Will it though ? , Maccarinelli is guaranteed to be one of the 2 people fighting for that vacant title(should Warren choose to let him be) and there is a good chance it could be a softish opponent in the other corner(if Warren has anything to do with it)

Your best bet at getting a title shot is through the IBF , their hunger for money causes them to make loads of eliminators and actually force mandatories(and lots of them) so you know where you stand with them .
With the WBO it can be so difficult to get your shot , and when it comes to voluntaries..........well unfortunately your in the 'who needs him' pile .
Too good for your own good a lot of the time .

btw for those saying there will be 3 vacant belts if Haye wins and then leaves , First Aslan is already WBA 'regular' champ , so that makes only the WBO and WBC available .

    Haye ko 6

Maccarinelli wasn't knocked down by a Super Middle like Haye was. Are your chin checking skills slipping?:D

No, Mac was knocked down by an absolute nobody

Haye has been down to two quality operators in the pros. Mac has fought a bunch of Cardiff bus drivers, so his hasn't been tested

Mac is going to get sparked out

My point was that posters are assuming Mac has the weaker chin but he was knocked down by a legit cruiser who wasn't blown up In weight when he was 19, while Haye was knocked down by a super middle and Mormeck who used to be a light heavy.

Peoples picks are based off Haye beating Mormek who always struggled with tall boxers who even struggled with Bell.

    Not an easy pick.

Haye hasn't shown the head movement and footwork he needs to slip under Enzo's jab since he beat Gurov and he struggles to get down to the limit while Enzo's walk around weight Is within Cruiser.

Plus Enzo has shown he can change and doesn't drop his hands like Haye does.

I like both though before anyone pulls some assumption bs too.

The thing is max you base alot of your judgements on mac on the braithweight fight when mac couldn't even put him away. I rate mormeck as a much betetr fighter than braithweight and was much mor eimpressed with the way haye went to fance and koed the champ in his own back yard than how enzo has gone back to fighting straight up bums after the braithweight fight.
