Bruno could never deal with speed and that would be the deciding factor here. Otherwise big Frank would take David's head off.
To be honest it'd be good to see two heavyweights getting into the ring looking like they'd trained on something other than pies. Bruno always looked ripped (maybe too ripped at the expense of his stamina) and Haye's in good shape. I don't know how it would turn out. I think Haye's speed might be the decider, but that assumes that he carries it up to heavy and has the heavy bang to match. I can't wait for Haye to have his next heavy fight. If the opponent's halfway decent we could learn so much about his potential amongst the big boys.
I dont know how anybody could pick haye who has never fought at heavyweight and could lose all of his power goin up against bruno who was a proven heavyweight?? Haye could go up to heavyweight and be terrible for all we know.
Haye's lucky this Is a weaker division, Bruno did well In a stronger division. Bruno had an awesome jab to and was winning on the cards against Lewis before being stopped.
bruno was underated , he was actually a good boxer with excellent power. haye is untested at heavy so its hard to compare really at this stage!! but i gotta say that if bruno landed one of his big shots, haye would go down like a sack of ****!!!!
A young Bruno first round KO against the former Heavyweight champion, Gerrie Coetzee. The fight was a heavy weight title eliminator. [yt]vluzMIpjtB0[/yt] Bruno knocks Coetzee clean down with a single power cross early on in the round, then makes great use of a superb jab, backing Coetzee up and snapping his head back, at times, throughout the round. Bruno finally finishes Coetzee off with a single killer right hook to the side of the head and just under two minutes into the fight. Bruno was a fighter with real heavyweight power and a very effective persuasive jab.
Bruno never weighed in above 220 in the first 20 fights of his career. So basically the same weight as Haye has been boiling down to CW from in his first 20 fights.
Haye has not proven anything at heavy yet. Bruno was world champion and a force at the weight for a long time. We know how good Bruno was but we have no idea how Haye will be. Who ever lands first.
Haye has been weighing in at just below 200 and as low as 189. A young Bruno (yonger then Haye is now) in his first title challenge against Witherspoon weighed in at around 230. Bruno was around 250 when he won the heavyweight title, that's quite a difference from under 200.
Bruno by KO. He had a great jab and gave Lewis and prime Tyson some problems early on. He even rocked Tyson after getting off the canvas and Tyson had a very good chin. Bruno got stopped by accumulations of hard shots, look at his losses to Tyson and Lewis. He was never starched by one shot. But he hit very hard and would land on Haye and if he did it is lights out for Haye. Haye would have to pick that left up, because Brunos jab was not slow and he would not be able to avoid being hit off reflexes alone. Haye would have a chance if he boxed smart and landed enough but Bruno is the clear favourite.
I can hear the chants echoing around the arena now... "BRUWWNOoow!!! BRUWWNOoow!!! BRUWWNOooow!!!..." I'd totally forgot about that old chestnut...
[yt]M0Gf3ywLCWs[/yt] Despite being in front on the score cards going into round Seven, Bruno gets taken out by Lewis. Haye isn't even in this sort of power league; he would be crushed in there.
This is a classic pickem fight. Both big punchers, both not great at taking it. I won't pick, but I would say it wont go the distance.
