The thing is aside from the Enzo Mac fight his power had become much more cummulative lately. You're also forgetting iron chinned skilled guys like Valuev and Chagaev, both have power and can go 12. Then you have Virchis, who has a solid beard and huge punch. It isn't as if only two people in the division would be favored over him.
Your a 100% right on this one, I would favor the guys you mentioned over Haye as well. I just said Peter and Wlad because there the top guys and from what I read Haye wants these fighters the most, so in any event, Haye's in for surprise when he's no longer the bully pushing the smaller guys around, Haye aint pushing noone around at Heavyweight.
I will disagree on those two being the top, I still maintain Chagaev is better than Peter, but either way both are a lot different than Mormeck. If Mormeck can hurt him and put him down, then Chagaev, Peter and Povetkin can put him out.
Agreed, but giving Chagaev's last performance and his ongoing illnesses and postponements throughout the last year, he's hardly a top guy anymore, especially after Valuev beats him. I used to like Chagaev, but now I feel he's one of the belt holders that are holding up progress, and am now pulling for Valuev to beat him and rid him of the division or at least the WBA belt which he barely defended.
He is fighting Valuev again, hardly an easy fight, and his last performance was better than Peter's vs McCline against an arguably more dangerous fighter. Plus he has the Ruiz and Virchis wins. The Valuev fight comes July 5th, so it isn't like the division is going no where, especially since Klitschko has two mandos on the horizon and the WBC is muddled beyond belief. Either way Chagaev and Peter would probably be clear favorites vs Haye.
Fair enough, though the McCline fight should no be measuring stick of what Peter can do, he had 9 days to prepare for his oppenent, who has proven early round power. Thats beside the point, Peters last oppenent was Maskaev, who he won every round against and ended up knocking him out in 6th round. As you pointed out, both Chagaev and Peter should be able to put Haye on ***** street, thats just hope we see it sometime soon.:good
I'd actually be pulling for Jameel. The poor ******* could retire off a big win and payday like this with his wallet and his professional pride satisfied. :yep
McCline beats the crap out of Haye, knocks him down six times in the first four rounds, and tears one of his arms off. Then loses on points.
Would be very, very interesting. He's not KOing McCline that's for sure...he's got an iron chin if he does fight like a small man.
A similar line of reasoning could apply to Chagaev with Skelton, he was coming off a nine month layoff and hepatitis B. I just cannot see Haye realistically taking shots from either man the way he has from Mormeck, Fragomeni and Johanson in the past.
It wouldn't be an ideal fight for Haye from a risk asessment point of view. It would be a real test, and it would give him some rounds and preperation for big heavyweights But if he wants to carefully position himself into a big money fight with Klitschko there are far easier ways to do so
