It's almost certain that Haye's first defence of his WBA Heavyweight Title will be against the ever crowd-pleasing John Ruiz. So who do you think will win and how? I think Haye will be far too quick for Ruiz to be wrestled and will stop him fairly early. I think will be like a heavyweight version of Pacquiao/Hatton with Ruiz getting iced. Haye stoppage within 4. :bbb
Haye by a massive knockout, and I'm a rarity - I quite admire Ruiz for making so much out of his limited (at top level) ability.
Haye, but it may be tough if Ruiz still holds alot since Haye doesn't fight on the inside, plus he waits too long to throw punches and looks like he has hardly any workrate.
Ruiz is such a tough guy Haye might have to break him down. I see it mid to late for Haye. The Tua thing has never happened before or since. It's a semi-dangerous fight, kinda like Barrett was.
Haye on points. I'm not a Ruiz fan by any means, but the Tua thing was a one-off - and let's face it, most HW's around that time wouldn't have gotten up either.
I agree 100%. ruizs chin is hanging out and he's totally different physically in the Tua fight. He's a totally different fighter now, probably to prevent that ever happening again. I think Haye can get to him though, again, although not a puncher I fear Ruiz can hurt Haye. But I reckon Hayes caginess, speed and movement would see him teeing up on Ruiz by the mid-to-late rounds. Fingers crossed.
Haye will be far more active and will land SO many more punches than he did on Valuev (obviously). If Haye can stagger Valuev with a glancing blow, at that angle, with his weaker arm, then i'm pretty confident that Davids right hands will close the show within 6 rounds.
i cant see ruiz landing anything significant on haye to be honest. haye doesnt have to get close to knock you out!!
this is a perfect fight to make some numbers in the future!! blowing away Ruiz in 3 rounds will definately wet the old tastebuds of boxingfans for a HAYE VS KLITSCHKO!!! :deal
Haye beats Ruiz all night long stopping him inside 6 rounds, it will be a good 1st defence for Haye because he was never going to look that good against Valuev... But with Ruiz i think he wont have to move so much and he could stand and trade with him or just make him look stupid plain simple and demolish him, either way Haye beats Ruiz.
