David Haye vs John Ruiz, who will win and how?

If you say the Tua thing was a one off, most people would agree that Haye (could be) faster and stronger than him, so could be even worse.

 

Haye TKO.

I think he will absolutely relish fighting Ruiz.

Tua fight aside, Ruiz has proven to be pretty good at protecting himself from getting knocked out one way or another, but this will be like the RJJ fight all over again for him...expect now he's years older and the other guy punches harder.

 

Haye within 5 rounds

 

I don't think Haye hits as hard as Tua. But Ruiz is getting on, Haye is fast and accurate, and if he keeps away from Ruiz with movement and catches him at angles I think he'll get him out of there in about seven. I'd prefer for him to box well for a while and take Ruiz out after picking away for a while. How tall is Ruiz? Cause Haye said recently je has trouble with shorter fighters, he's about the same height as Haye isn't he?

 

ruiz is a genuinely terrible fighter. i expect haye to shine in front of his countrymen. ruiz will not be able to handle the speed like he did jones and toney...

I actually dont mind Ruiz. Yeah he's limited and pretty boring at times but he's not a great boxer and has done very well for himslef despite this. If I was in there and was limited like him ( I AM :deal) then I would do the same thing. Haye will not blow him out either. Haye will have to spend around 5/6 rounds breaking him down and constantly unloading until Ruiz finally crumbles. Haye to win by Tko at or around the 7th

I'm pretty sure Ruiz is about 6'2, so yes about the same.

I'm sure that Ruiz will basically look to try to rough Haye up and brawl, do the 'I'm a genuine heavyweight' routine which Barrett also tried with his shoulder charges and bull rushes.

It's a potentially perfect opponent for Haye to look good against. The only concern is if he gets dragged into a grapplefest instead, because absolutely no-one comes out of a Ruiz fight looking good that way.

He's not. He's terrible to watch, but he knows how to work to his strengths, he can box, use his clinching tactics to make a fight difficult for near enough anybody, and has enough power to at least earn an opponents respect and stop them just walking straight through him. I still pick Haye to win, almost certainly by KO, but lets not get ahead or ourselves and assume beating Ruiz is some formaility. He's been hanging around near the top of the division for 10 years for a reason.

 

Haye is going to stop Ruiz, probably in the first 4 rounds

 

It looks the ideal fight for Haye to look good in, showboating all his skills and finishing him off in style around 6-8.

Cue Ruiz finding some holy hellish punch from nowhere to comatose Haye around the 7th! Then going on for another round robin with Valuev, Oleg and the corpse of Sven Ottke!
