I noticed on general that someone said David Haye would slaughter(or words to the effect) Michael Spinks. Do you agree?

When did Haye ever slaughter someone of Spinks' calibre?

I detect sarcasm! I thought it was a bit brave to suggest Haye beats Spinks based on what Haye had actually achieved, (as another poster points out).

I'm not entirely sure Haye beats ****ey!

I agree with you on those points. How do you reckon a Fury-Haye fight would have gone?

I dont know about that, was supporting fury in that. David Haye could close show early, if cunningham lands and drops fury, david haye would of stopped him. If it goes past the 6th the stronger and much bigger man tyson fury takes over, and once hes warmed up he doesnt mind taking a few to swarm smaller guys. David haye would not be able too dodge fury for the whole 12rounds as he did with valuev. But as haye is very fast quality puncher when on form, he either gets the decision. Or fury stops him late, fury has better stamina, just his defence lets him down.

Haye at heavyweight was quick and could punch very hard, unfortunately he had to fight Vlad for the championship like Spinks had to fight Tyson, bad luck of the draw.

At heavyweight I think Haye was the stronger guy physically and slightly quicker but this fight could go either way.

they both beat big heavy's with Spinks KO ****ey and Haye W12 Valuev

Spinks is simply a higher caliber of fighter. MUCH higher.

Haye was indeed a bigger man physically, but that's not enough for the huge gap in class.

Haye is one of the most overrated fighters in recent years. Spinks is an ATG, one of the best LHWs ever who also managed to do more at HW than Haye did.

True, Spinks should win but its just unfortunate for him that despite an outstanding career, his last defining career moment came in his last fight and when someone mentions his name, it hard to keep from your mind the image of Spinks being blown away in 91 seconds by a rampaging Tyson.:verysad

tons of people will say tons of **** here.. but the reality is that haye is a modern, very strong, explosive puncher, fast and he would have a good chance to beat spinks, it is a perfect and fair match, at cruiser maybe spinks had too much experience( he was a lhw but in frame. Was. Natural cruiser), at hw haye would have a much better chance, he was bigger, stronger and harder puncher than spinks.

I will take Spinks any day over Haye. He is far more skilled, and found ways to win against vastly superior competition. Spinks would pick Haye apart, and would probably get a late stoppage. (at any weight)

Haye would win, bigger, quicker, more power and doesn't give much away. Spinks is overrated because of going to the wire against a past it Holmes.
