David Haye had a great first round. He landed an amazing uppercut. Solis knees dipped and he was ko'd but while falling he woke up and stumbled backwards. It's a great thing to see. Like the true champ that Solis is, he came back out and fought smart. He tighten his guard, got less careless and just kept chipping away. Great comeback. Heavyweight rematch??? Watch the video on youtube.
Shame Solis hasnt improved like Haye has since then. He seems to be following the James Toney diet which is a real shame as he in shape he would be a serious force at HW.
What do you need explaining? Solis was out. 100% wrap up, lets go home. Like Ali v Frazier, the end looked imminent but as the body sagged and he fell backwards he body somehow switched back on and he managed to save himself from going down. It's great to see.
Shame old enzo mac hasn't got the same recuprative skills isn't it, or we may of got more then one and a half rounds :yep :yep :yep Whats it called bounce backability lol
never seen anything like that before. Like when Herol Graham was going down to Julian Jackson - there was no waking up from that. the only come from dead one that springs to mind for me is Shanon Briggs laid out on the floor unconcious by Lennox Lewis and then he suddenly just woke up and got back on his feet "that is miraclous" - said Ian Darke as he witnessed it.
That's what it looked like though. The punch lands the lights switch off and for all intents and purposes the fights over BUT while going down and out, they wake up. Amazing. Frazier caught Ali with a hook and his knees went and Ali was en route to the canvas but somehow while going down his body switched on and he pushed himself up again and against the ropes. Great stuff.
Solis looks a good solid pro at the moment but he does carry a little excess. Maybe in a year they may fight if their careers carry on going in the path they are currently taking.
If Enzo had been able to get a standing 8 count after the first punch landed, he would probably have lasted a little longer. And if Haye v Solis had been a pro fight the follow up punches would have finished Solis off in the first.
Would obviously be a very intriguing fight. Fatty Solis hasn't really progressed, but I feel the talent is waiting to be unlocked. This might bring the best out of him, he would know what Haye brings to the table better than anyone. He may even not train at Dunkin' Donuts Along with Povetkin, who blatantly ducked Haye in the amateurs. I'm a big fan of Alex, this is a genuine 50/50 fight in my opinon. I think these are the two most interesting fights for Haye outside of Wlad.
Solis could still become a major player at heavy but he needs to show alot more improvment, his fitness seems to be getting better but I do not hold any hopes of seeing him mix with even Euro level competitors in the next year.
