funny how haye dismisses barrett saying "who has he ever fought." well monte fought klit, valuev, and 05 rahman and some fringe contenders. sounds a whole lot better than haye's resume. haye even adds a year to monte's age. sounds like he's going to great lengths to dismiss the guy.

Yeah, losing to those guys is much better then being undisputed cruiserwieght champ in just over 20 fights. Don't see anything wrong with Haye not wanting to fight him as he isn't even ranked in the top 10.

I would also like to see a source as Haye never mentioned anything in his interview today. All he said is he will be fighting in mid November.

I am still waiting for the source from the author. In the link posted above it clearly states, "Haye is in no doubt that his bout will go ahead as planned, but admits he still does not know who his opponent will be."

the point was he said who has he "fought" which is a ridiculous question. the fringe contenders monte beat would be a bigger challenge than many of haye's cw comp. i'm not saying haye is ducking or monte would necessarily beat him, but haye's explanation for not fighting him is not credible. it would be more credible if he said monte poses to much risk for not enough reward ("and I'd rather fight an apparently utterly shot Maskaev" whom haye obviously at least considered).

btw, yes haye was 'the man' at cw, but imo you can't call him undisputed due to cunningham (regardless of your opinion as to how he'd destroy cunningham).

I have a feeling Maskaev will go down like a ton of bricks, I hope he KOs that daftie Haye though.

He's not at all, but after seeing him so ripped and cut all the time, he actually looks a bit chubby there (relatively).

Well its no secret that he is looking to for a top 10 ranked opponent is it? But yeah he could have done a better job of explaning his reasons for not wanting to fight Barrett. He also said if Barrett gets a good win and looks good a fight could happen in the future.

I never knew you could read my mind as I have never stated he would destory cunningham.

he looks healthier at 16 stone.

i really have no idea who his opponent will be in november. can't even speculate as we are talking about a date 4 months away and who knows who will and won't be available.

i think we'll know the opponent towards the end of august.
