I would love to see Maskaev KO Haye but i fear Maskaev is now just looking for his last paycheck with Haye to KO him within 1!
Maskaev is really shot, his fight with Peter showed that his reflexes was gone, his speed is even worse than what it once was. David Haye sparks him, unfortunately.. I think he sparks him in the first round.
**** poor fight,i hope its not true, because all hayes talking would have amounted to nothing, haye ko 2 if it happens.
Yep, boxrec have this fight listed but we will have to wait and see if it turns out to be true. Even though Maskaev is ranked 7th by WBC and IBF, I can still see the Haye hater moaning about this matchup.
haye by early KO. his speed and explosiveness will prove too much for the old, slow and worn oleg. also david has the advantage of being the SBA.
Maskeav isn't a terrible first fight. It would be foolish to jump up and immediatly fight a top 3, 4 fighter. Everyone is fighting each other anyway, Maskeav is one of the few available. And Oleg isn't that bad, he was WBC champ one fight ago and still has power. His speed, reflexes are shot and that's going to lead to a KO for Haye but he could pick far worse first fights.
I like Haye but we haven't even seen him at HW yet. I will hold my prediction until the second fight he has at that weight. Good first fight for a step up.
he was the WBC champ one fight ago, you cant say he's that much of a poor oponent. he has to be better than rahman (another possible opponent) seems as tho he ko'd him for the title.
I think this is a decent first fight for Haye. Oleg isn't what he was but is still an ok heavyweight by todays standards. I much prefer him to Barrett. Oleg does have a decent punch so if he can hit Haye it will be interesting to see how Haye handles the naturally heavier punch of a heavyweight. It will also be a good barromiter of how well Haye's power is at heavyweight. Oleg doesn't have the best chin in the world so if Haye hits him early (which he should considering Haye's speed and Oleg's lack of) and doesn't get him out of there, i think it will be safe to say that Haye's power has not been carried up nearly as well as he and Adam Booth thought it would.
