A cheap, sweet, fortified wine that's popular among the homeless for its strength and price. Utter filth.

This isn't too bad a fight from what I can see. Maskaev's clearly not what he was but still carries enough threat to keep Haye honest. However, I'd be surprised if it ends any other way than a Haye KO.

As has already been said, Haye's going to beat him to the punch as soon as Oleg looks to throw and I doubt he'll need to do it too many times or throw much more than single shots before it's over. Still, it's against a name fighter and there were plenty of worse options.

Just remember speed can be beaten by timing.

Maskaev is slow and chinny but he's got power and he's been around a long time. You can't be careless with a guy like that.

Dimitrenko and Ibragimov might give some problems. Maskaev and Peter are easier opponents. Their so slow..

Ibragimov would be the best option, but I expect that it'd be a hard fight to make.

Maskaev is an okay option, not the best, but he beat Rahman. I think anyone other than Ibragimov would be open to criticism, and for his second fight at heavyweight, the former WBC champ, who took Peter a few rounds, is a pretty good name.

people keep complaining that haye has done nothing and needs to work his way up the heavyweight division and then people complain about him fighting a slightly shot ex-title holder.

I thought that is what you are meant to do, fight an ex-champ, beat him in a better fashion than he was beat by the current champ, then beat that champ then fight klit for all the titles. job done

also people saying he should fight monte barrett because he beat a hyped guy who had never fought anyone of note.

People keep on forgetting what a sucky decision the Heavyweight devision is at the moment.

It is ****. The champions are ****, the contenders are worse. Common sense in Boxing dictates that when you move up you fight contenders first.

CONCLUSION: Haye was always going to fight a sucky fighter because there are no good ones outside the belts or arguably inside the belts! Maskaev is probably (and this is so sad for the division) the best of the chasing pack if you take into acount experience, ex-title holding pedigree and drawing power.

Monte Barrett is a prize bellend. He is trying to ride to Dollartown on Haye's reputation. Haye is chatting so much because he is forging a reputation - Barrett is trying to ride on a reputation that isn't even there yet! Worse than that clown Witter!

Not quite sure what Buckfast is, but I think it must be some cheap liquor.

Oleg was not hitting on all cylinders for the Peter fight, no, but if he fights Haye, it'll be do or die for his rankings and postition as a decent draw. If he gets thrashed against Haye, Oleg will then be reduced to Friday Night Fights material.

Haye beats the old Maskaev no problem.

Maskaev should be looking to fight Golota, that could be entertaining, then look for Haye to close his career. he could make some good money in this fights.

I thought about this too. It's too risky for Maskaev, nothing to gain for Golota.
