Barrett would've been a better match than Maskaev, who is beyond shot.
Haye can try to hype this as a fight against a legitimate threat all he wants but it is just a case of him hunting down a broken old fighter who has some name recognition.
Dimitrienko, who is a legitimate young, top 10 HW is available and Haye never even gave him consideration.
A bit sad to move up to the HW's, talk endless **** about how many bums are around and how you will clean it out, then hunt down guys who were in their primes 5+ years ago and try to market the fight as a true test.

i dont think maskaev could be the one who´s gonna give haye trouble at all.
he´s too slow,IMO HW DIVISION is the weekest in years...it´s sad!

I doubt Dimitrenko's handlers would put him in with Haye at this moment in time.

who the fuk is Dimitrenko??? Haye is after some kind of name he can build some hype around i beat a young russian no one has heard of wont cut it. I beat a guy who until recently had a belt will - not a great opponent but a good one cant see how he can be critisied for it to be honest.

Why do you doubt that? It would be a great payday for Dimitrienko plus more exposure in one fight than he's had in his entire career thus far. All in a match that is very winable for Dimitrienko.

Maskaev is way over the hill, even I pick Haye to stop him...
worst thing is that since Maskaev is still some kind of 'name' in the HW division, the Haye nuthuggers on here will go crazy about their boy after that fight - when in reality that fight proves nothing.

My advice is: put Haye in the ring with old Oli McCall. If Haye gets past McCall we can take him serious as a HW contender...

Who did you beat that held a belt recently? Are you calling Haye out?

I don't like Dimitrenko, but he is more credible as an opponent than the over the hill Maskaev

Well you will be bitterly disapointed then as this fight ends in the 1st, with oleg looking up at the lights.

I hope for better, but atleast haye should do a much more clinical job then peter.

Maybe that is why they are choosing oleg recently wbc champ, and prove a point by doing a much better job then peter. :bbb

So he can't fight Maskaev because he's old and shot but you advocate him fighting a 43 year old crackhead? :huh

    Look, is this defintive?

Because the amount of rumoured heavyweights Haye has been due to fight is getting ridiculous.

Yeah he was a genuine world champion one fight ago. I say this is a really good fight for Haye.
