If Oleg can survive the first 5 rounds he has a chance because i think Haye would get slower and he would lose power in the later rounds. In the first 5 rounds Oleg needs a lucky punch like in the first Rahman fight But i think Haye is too fast for the big right hand. I think Haye wins bystopaage at round 5 with Maskaev is still standing but unable to defent himself against Haye's big punches the key factor's will be Haye's workrate and speed. I'm not sure what would happen if Maskaev lands a heavy right hand on Haye chin.
Maskaev could get a lucky shot in on Haye's suspect chin, but most likely he is too far gone to be able to deliver that shot before his own shaky chin lets him down.
What a ****in joke, Oleg Maskaev could barely stand after one round against Peter and idiots still believe he has a chance...This is what is so wrong with boxing, clowns like Haye's talk like they want to fight the best but then turn around and fight an old used up opponent.
This is Haye cherry-picking the highest rated lowest risk fighter available. Haye KO within a couple of rounds. If Sam Peter was too fast for Oleg Haye will catch him earlier. Big deal
This could be a terrific oppurtunity for the Big O to get back into the HW title picture. So I can see why he would want this fight. But if he looks as poorly conditioned as he was in the Peter fight, I just don't see a positive result for him. At his age, there is just no reason to believe that his speed and reflexes are going to improve. Haye will undoubtedly go after Oleg early, and will more than likely get the early TKO. Sadly, the result will be less of a test for Haye than the fight should have been.
Hi jisi:hi: I think Maskaev is alright for Hayes HW debut. Although Maskaev is weak chinned, he still has got a very good punch. I´d like to see Hayes reaction, if he gets hit by Maskaev.
I tend to agree with almost ALL of your posts RUSKULL, but this is not the case. Wladimir should receive the same heat from picking on a much smaller heavyweight who stood barely no chance in Chris Byrd. First fight from Holyfield in the heavyweight division was against James "Quick" Tillis who had an "extraordinary" record of 38-13-1. Lets cut Haye some slack before hating, will we? While I agree with you, Haye will overwhelm the shot Oleg Maskaev.
I hope Maskaev reconsiders and decides not to fight again. During his fight with Peter I was just hoping the ref would jump in and stop it due to Oleg looking old. He couldn't even lift his arms to throw a proper punch or protect himself. Luckily Peter's punches are so wide that they missed his face 95% of the time. I was hoping Haye could back up his **** talking by winning impressively against a couple of tough opponents, then taking on Klitschko in the highest profile HW match since Vitali-Lewis. Beating up on Oldlegs Maskaev isn't gonna convince many doubters that he can pose a legitimate threat to Wlad.
Can someone please name a decent top heavyweight that no one can criticize and would be available to fight Haye in October?
He better watch it because as old and slow as Maskaev is, the power is the last thing to go. Maskaev CAN knock Haye out if he lands that right clean.
