:nod Didn't understand the love then or now. Maybe I am too critical but I've never thought the Huck fight was a fluke. I wasn't even excited when Povetkin got the match against Wlad, what happened is exactly what I thought would happen. Povetkin is average in every way.

    Haye.

Haye would also have Wilder out of there quicker than he did De Mori.

    Wilder has no chin. NONE

Who exactly called him a future ATG?

Maybe. But we'll never know considering Wilder chose to fight Duhaupas, Molina and Szpilka instead of Takam. And as for Wach,

And I guarantee Pov would have got rid of Wilder' s last four stiffs without being rocked and given a pizza face.

Prime haye had a real chance. Much faster good power. Unsual style for a heavy

This slowed down bulked up version I think Povetkin can get to him late and when that happens its night night

I don't rate Povetkin very highly. I think he would lose to Wilder, and Haye would probably beat him too.
I don't understand the Povetkin love on this board.

I can't speak for everyone but for me, Povetkin is the heavyweight I enjoy watching most ever since Vitali retired, and heavyweight have always been my favourite division.

And resume-wise, Povetkin>Valuev, Sam Peter, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Haye, Pulev

Povetkin last cash out will be when Wilder proves once again that povetkin is at best C level hw, unless he can be transported back to the 60's or 70's and any further back.

He'd be a very top tier hw back then, today fringe contender who got beat up by a shot, chinny and bar room level stamina wlad

What do you define as 'average' then? Personally I don't consider being a top HW contender for 10 years 'average'

As for the praise he's received... It may be overstated by some but he's clearly rebounded exceptionally well, and has definitely looked better since losing to Wlad. It's how he beat guys like Takam and Perez(especially) that's impressive. Charr may be a bum, but when was the last time you saw a HW rattle of a KO combo like that?

Povetkin top tier in the 70s?

    I highly doubt it.

    He's good, but nothing special.

The one decent fighter he did face was nearly 40 and dropped him like a bad habit.

I cant see Povetkin beating Szpilka, at least not in 4 rounds.
