Haye beats the **** out of Jones. If Tarver could smash the chin at that point, Haye would obliterate it. Jones wouldn't have the same kind of style advantages he had over Ruiz over Haye, and he wouldn't even have that much of a quickness advantage. Haye's just too big, powerful and quick for Roy in most phases of his career. It's one thing to say Roy would beat some big plodding HWs in his prime, like Sam Peter, but I can't see him doing it to someone quick and uunorthodox enough that he'd have to weather a few shots on the chin he didn't see coming.
Haye would win, Roy was not mobile enough to avoid Haye's shots for the whole fight. Prime Jones bulked up would have boxed circles round Haye and stopped him late. Ruiz fight Jones Jr Haye TKO Prime Jones Jr Jones TKO10
Ruiz is a completely different style. You have to remember Jones plotted this move where he had a great stylistic advantage, against a slow mover and "inside" fighter, meaning he could use movement and speed to negate him and completely outbox him. He got out of there pretty quickly which shows how he saw a way to beat Ruiz, but not many others. Still a great win obviously. Haye is far more mobile and powerful, and its difficult to see him not catching Jones with something.
Dear sweet Jesus! :yikes This thread goes to show how much current hype messes with people's minds. RJJ wins every which way. And twice on Sunday.
Jones could never take Haye's right hand and Haye is fast enough to land it flush, early and brutal KO for Haye.
Jones is loved on this board alomost beyond reason. Anyone that thinks any version of Jones has any chance at all vs Haye at CW or heavy needs to take their head out oftheir backside and realise the guy was great but not god. Haye would utterly brutalise Jones.
