What? Everyone is saying that Haye would KO Jones Jr. Haye would never land a clean enough shot on Roy to even make him wobble. Roy was too agile and too naturaly gifted to get beat in that way by Haye. Roy would have outboxed him nearly the entire fight, to end up winning by KO.
have fun with that idea Have you thought that maybe Roy was using angles more to avoid being hugged to death by Ruiz? Haye is good and the only british champ right now that actually knows how to fight(hattons a wrestler and Joe is an average slapper)but he's well beneath Roy Jones on about ever level and the Jones that fought Ruiz would Put Haye to sleep in about 4 rounds.....this isnt Mormeck or Mac were talking about here:nut
And I'll go you one better.... The Ruiz that LOST to RJJ beats Haye as well. Haye doesn't have the movement to keep Jawny off. Ruiz by UD in a boring hug-a-thon.
Why does no one take into account the fact that Jones had never been hurt pryor to and during the Ruiz fight. YOu cant assume that Jones was chinny during that Ruiz fight. Thats why the poster said 'Haye versus the Jones who fought Ruiz' His chinniness may have well been caused from losing 25 lbs of muscle, which is in no way, shape, or form an easy task. I believe Haye is hyped up right now. I dont think he isnt good, just overhyped. IMO, Jones beats him.
you're talking about KO'ing the Jones who lost 25lbs of muscle. The heavyweight Jones was arguably, at the time, still untouchable to most. He would have blasted Haye, who regardless of his reign at light heavy, is still unproven.
I remember hearing similar stuff before the Johnson, Rahman, Holyfield, Golota and Oquendo fights. But Ruiz stil won.
Well said. This is one of those threads that we can pull up in a few years time and laugh at. Once Haye gets KTFO by a journeyman HW or two. This whole Haye situation is really reminiscant of the hype bandwagon that surrounded JC Gomez when he stepped up from Cruiser. Everyone was so sure he was going to clean out the HW division within a year or two. :yep Gomez was 33-0 with 29 KOs when he stepped up to HW. And he sure as hell had never been KTFO by someone like 40-year old Carl Thompson.
