Well...he was the WBC champion. ...But he's definitely on the bottom shelf as far as major world titlists are concerned.

He had plenty of trouble against Toney

Actually so much trouble that he was outboxed over 12 rounds, but received gift from two senile judges

Certainly Peter would be the toughest test for Haye at HW thus far. Look how Haye was struggling for a couple rounds against Fragomeni, Peter's style and skill set isn't far off.

Haye can not allow himself to open up as widely as against a feather-fisted 38 year old Ruiz nor can he be caught off-balance like against a faded, 38 year old Barrett. Haye has to box flawlessly, be fast on his legs and avoid toe-to-toe trading all night.

I'd still pick Haye to win 7 out of 10 fights by UD, and lose 3 of those fights by KO.

Haye would stop Peter in later rounds.

Peter is too slow to hit Haye and hasent got good enough defence to avoid Davids Hayemakers.

Hasn't got good enough defense? You must be crazy, fool!

"Samuel Peter isn't just the Nigerian Nightmare because of his powerful attacks. He's also a nightmare to hit! That's why everyone's always saying he's the heavyweight version of me! And they're right!"

You make it sound like one has to be fast in order to land on Haye. That IMO is not correct. Thanks to Haye's wide-open defense he is quite easy to hit. A 38 year old Ruiz was landing double-jabs on Haye, Barrett was landing. Medicore Fragomeni was landing. You don't need fast hands to land on Haye.

That being said when fighting guys like Valuev or Audley "slow motion" Harrison Haye's defensive reflexes will look fast. But they're just average.

Haye would beat him down easily in a one-sided, ruiz-style fight. Haye is a skilled boxer-puncher. Sam was always a terrible fighter with more limitations than talents.

I see Peter by Knockout written all over this.

Haye never fought a "spring chicken" like Sam.

Barett,Valuev,Ruiz - all over 37, no punch at all

Never ever Haye would sign such a dangerous fight with Peter.

He would be a national hero if he would fight him.

    :huh

Go Audley, remove this fraud from our lovely division.

This wouldn't have been a fight. Haye gets him outta there in about 3 or 4 rounds. In the 5th when Wlad had him ready to go Haye puts him out for sure.

LOL Haye was in trouble against a 5"9 short, tattoo-covered Italian dockworker technically limited Fragomeni and took 9 rounds to stop him, but he'd take 3-4 rounds to stop Peter?

Christ Haye took 5 rounds to stop a 38 year old nobody like Barret, 9 rounds for a washed up grandpa like Ruiz, but right he'd easily get rid of a 30 year old legit HW like Peter in 3 rounds - a fighter who has a chin more solid than *ANYBODY* Haye ever stopped throughout his career thus far.

    Hilarious.

Mark my words: Even a simply UD points win against Peter would be a major accomplishment for Haye. I'd give him full credit for a win.

An EASY Haye win. Sam Peter is slow as hell and wouldn't be able to hit Haye, or react to his punches.

Those picking Peter are letting their Haye hatred get the better of their wisdom. If Peter gets past 6th round being knocked out or having the fight stopped then he's done well.
