Some people on this forum believe that Kovalev would not only win, but actually "destroy" the Hayemaker. I'm curious to see what the majority thinks.

Also, before you say that it is an unfair matchup, try to keep in mind that Roy Jones Jr. started his career at light middleweight and was able to win a heavyweight title.

    Sergey Kovalev
    Height: 6 feet 0 inches
    Reach: 72.5 inches
    Stance: Orthodox

    David Haye
    Height: 6 feet 3 inches
    Reach: 78 inches
    Stance: Orthodox

Haye is a big cruiserweight whereas Kovalev has been fighting in LHW for the last 10 years. Odds would be in Haye's favour. But without the size advantage, it'd be Kovalev.

Thanks for sharing. I just want to point out that the fight is at heavyweight, so Haye would have a size advantage, just like Ruiz in his fight with RJJ.

Taking on Haye is a whole different thing than taking on Ruiz.

It's an impossible fight in heavyweight. Doable in cruiserweight but still they are too far apart physically. Not unlike Wlad vs Haye. You can try your best but there's only so much you can do against a decent fighter in his prime who's significantly bigger than you unless you are a mother nature's freak like Mike Tyson. A catchweight close to LHW and weigh-in's executed 10 minutes before the fight and Kovalev has a chance.

If Haye has that HGH gut then Kovalev stops him early with a body shot. :dead

If Haye enters the ring with a curiously bulging stomach, Kovalev KOes him early:bokc

Haye's wiki page says that he is 6' 3".

So how do you reckon Kovalev would win? :huh

At this point its an absurd fantasy fight. Light heavy vs heavy.

I would favour Haye because of his natural size advantage and of course because we have no idea how Kovalev would fare at HW because we've only seen him compete at LHW. That said, at CW, anything Lolenga Mock can do, Kovalev can do better. So he would stand a decent chance of wrecking his world if he caught him good, as too would Haye if he caught Kovalev obviously as well.

That's what I think as well, but, apparently, some [clueless] posters feel differently.
