Former undisputed cruiserweight champion David Haye is moving up to heavyweight. So how do you see Haye faring in his new weight class? Will he have 3 years of heavyweight domination as Lennox Lewis had done so previously or will he just become a forgotten journeyman? How does he stack up against the current champions in Wladmir Klitschko, Samuel Peter, and Ruslan Chagaev or other contenders as Nikolai Valuev and Oleg Maskaev?

his speed will give him a big advantge over slower guys like peter and Oleg
Against someone physical who could ruff him up say Valuev he could struggle with his stamina and chin
I actually think he has a decent chance against Wlad who altho he seems to be winning looks like he could be on the slide - his jab has lost some authority and hes getting even more tentative in the ring

POWER SPEED SKILL GUTS BIG MOUTH AND A SHAKEY CHIN

I tell you what thats combination makes for one hell of a ride :good if your not excited about haye at hw go find another sport, at last something exciting the division. Seriously it should be fun, he may win a strap or might get ktfo, he may ko wlad or he may not.

He will certinaly look good against the slower heavies out there and who knows what his power will be like with not killing himself to make 200ilbs ?

I honestly see Haye doing well against Wlad and peter but i really think he will struggle with the likes of Chagaev and Povetkin.
Either way it's going make the division a whole lot more exciting.

IMO his chin and defence are questionable, I doubt that he can hack it in the HW division.

At least I want more proof than Bonin, before I even give him a chance against any top 5-10 HW´s.

I hope he does well. Might put some life in the division.

Put it this way. He is an exceptional athletic talent with good pop and an exciting style who will likely stop or dec all the avg chinned + avg punching heavies, but as soon as he steps in with a world class heavy with good pop + a solid chin, he is gonna take a wicked ass whooping.

    Good post.

I think some of the more slick and fast handed heavies will give Haye trouble, like Ibragimov and Chagaev......Wlad would knock him out, but I think Haye / Peter would be a good fight, given what each man brings, and what each man lacks.

All the rest, aside from the massive Valuev, I think Haye would probably TKO, or KO.

Honestly his big mouth is really annoying and he almost got KOd by Mormeck and lost to a bum at 200 lbs,at heavyweight he might win a abc title but never will he be champion

I think his chin only became questionable as he struggled more and more to make the weight. I think his chin will do fine at HW. His speed gives him a great advantage, and I think he'll definitely get a hold of one of the belts at some point at the very least.

Haye is going to bring excitement to the division, the guys good.

That being said, Minto kills him early.
