Never seen a high profile match up in the UK on a Sunday. I think I saw Degale fight on Sunday in America a couple of years ago.
Was the only available date available at the O2 in December... Think Eddie has said the ring walks will be no later than 10pm, not sure what the rush was to make sure it get's done before the new year
They could put this on a Tuesday night and it would still be a box office smash and a sell out in the arena. Anything that involves my G David Deron Haye is a nailed on winner. People like to watch him whether it's to see him win or hope he gets smashed.
A sunday is ok, so long as its not too late. Many people will also be off from Friday 15th of december for Christmas holidays until the new year, so they wont have work the next day either.
Boxrec is showing most of the 'A' side of the undercard - I say most as I assume they'll be more bouts added. TBA is in the away corner a fair bit at the moment though. http://boxrec.com/en/event/758147
Grab a bagel, watch Haye decapitate the bombah, hit the clubs, couple of pints, bit of MDMA, 4am Burger King, quick kip on the park bench, 8am Starbucks and straight into the office for 9am. Eddie knows.
Recipe for a glorious Monday morning ! I've criticized this fight (and your G David Deron Haye) as PPV event quite a bit, and that stands. But I kinda hope Haye pulls this off now. Bellew's become a far bigger annoyance to me. Him and his Hearn-puppet ways.
The fact its on a Sunday will probably make me more likely to buy in all honesty. The last few PPV's i have either been to or me and the lads have gone out to watch somewhere... not happening on a sunday so will stay in and pay the money.
Hope haye puts a beating on him he hasn't stopped talking since the fight and to even mention a heavy world title did he not rewatch the fight
