He has to come up with a strategy to get past Wlad's jab. A lot depends how bad Haye's chin is, if it is pure glass than I think even Wlad's jabs will hurt him then he is toast. If he can east some jabs but keep on attacking, then he can get a KO.
As I see it, with Wlad's size advantage, Haye's best game plan would be to, hopefully, dodge Wlad's right hand, an immediately move in and counter with all he's got. What else is he gonna do? He certainly can't lead, given Wlad's size and power. All he can do is move as Wlad throws, and quickly move inside Wlad's range and unload powerfully and quickly.
Some typical morons writing in this thread. The same guys who look for silly excuses, when Klitschko KTFO Haye.
Haye will have to use immediate pressure like Sanders did and hope he does not get countered because if he does his Glass Jaw will get shattered.
It depends on what sort of punch Haye can take and what sort of punch he can deliver at heavyweight. One fight (which didn't last long) is hardly any indicator. I'm still catching up on Haye footage and haven't seen much so far, but right now, I'd say: Make Wlad lead. Draw him in and counter with superior handspeed. Once in a while, take the initiative and throw lead rights if Wlad gets a little lazy with the jab. Go to the body if possible when Wlad looks to tie him up.
Alll this trumper about haye having a glass jaw. He hasn't. He was over matched in like his 10th pro fight against Carl Thompson and ran out of steam against him. His legs were betraying him before he was hit. He has been struggling to make crusier for a long, long time now. Weight draining has been a big issue for him. He was knocked down against Mormeck suspectly but got up to hammer him hard. I have seen him take big shots and not get staggered like in the first against Maccarinelli. Who himself has an underrated chin. He took bombs from Haye in that 2nd round before the big one landed but i think that punch would have seen any boxer to a 10 count.
Haye has to move, and throw well calculated bombs. He has to feint his way in, and throw hard either to the body or head and he has to use his speed with everything he does. He even has to try the jab at times. He has to clinch when Wlad gets close. He has to game plan not being hit by the jab, and he has a chance.
Wlad's gonna be far too reluctant to commit against Haye. He's been in too much trouble in recent fights. I see Haye taking advantage of Wlads hesitancy and using his speed to pepper the Ukrainian with lots of shots. Haye by stoppage in 7.
Lol @ all those Haye fans creating this fantasy-island like scenario where Hayes chin will dramatically improve at heavyweight and his superduper handspeed will KO Wlad easily in 5 rounds...LOL...he took bombs at cruiser and didn´t go down?! LMAO i guess those bombs were similar to Wlads jab... But i guess it´s just natural to keep living in denial to keep your hopes up, until Wlad´s left hook or one of those straight right hands find Hayes chin that is...but let me guess Haye is way too fast to get hit and even if...his chin could take it...LMAO Wlad wins this one easily inside 5 rounds...
Haye's strategy will be to get inside and get a clean shot on Wladimir. He knows if that happens then he will be Heavyweight champion of the world.
That prediction was based on the asumption that Vitaly is not a same man that he was 4 years ago. Obviously he wasnt rusty and dominated Peter. Haye vs. Wladimir prediction is basen on speed and power of Haye. Haye will attack Wlady early and finnish him off before third round.
