David Haye was never fully fit since his return he just wanted to cash out

What makes people think haye would have won the last 6 rounds?

 

Haye was much faster against Wladimir no doubt about that.

 

I think he'll want a rematch and Hearn will bite, depending on what figures tonight did.

 

Of course he was slower! Remember mike tyson at 36? Ali at 36 losing vs Leon spinks?

 

Sad moment for Haye, he looked slow and weak. Unfortunately the injury didn't help. I think there would have been much bigger chance of him knocking out Bellew if it wasn't for his injury, it looked as if he was getting into a rhythm.

 

The problem is Haye won't be physically ready in like a year. Achilles rupture alone needs months of recovery and rehabilitation, he will probably need an operation. Then he needs another few months to get in shape and train. Who knows what other injuries he might pick up until then. He's 36 years old and has had a ton of injuries. By the time the rematch can take place people will already forget about Bellew.

Hearn will look to cash out on Bellew victory and feed him to Wilder or maybe drag some big name up from 175.

 

How much did Haye get paid?

 

Between 1 and 4 million. Need to see the Pay per view first, but that is the range.

 

Way too much for the fraud he is.

 

If you go through Haye's career, what were genuine amazing wins? I count the Mormeck win in Paris that he pulled off. That's it, that's ONE good fight against a strong, legit prime opponent. The rest is a bunch of joke fights (Fraudley, Valuev), overmatched C level contenders (Chisora), glass-jawed nobodies (Macca), old shot fighters (Ruiz, Barrett).

Now he was caught cherrypicking again and thank god it backfired.

 

I don't know how long his achilles will take to heal, but I still find it amazing he was not wearing full lace boots if he needed more support, that stupid tape around his ankle was laughable. McGuigan should have made him wear the right gear.

 

Yeah the commentators on the radio said his boots were more like trainers and therefore just asking for it.
I've seen A few in what look like pumps.

 

This is just me but I always wanted to see Haye/Povetkin back when it would have been the right time to make it. Haye had his window of opportunity to go down in boxing history in a better light. He wasted it IMO. And frustrated a lot of boxing fans in the process too.

 

Haye over-managed his career. He was too busy hand-picking, too busy cancelling fights with fake injuries to get seemingly more lucrative fights and then due to TV network and financial pressure unable to cancel fights when he was genuinely injured. Too busy getting a costly divorce, too busy partying in Dubai and Miami, too busy with business ventures all over the world that lost him lots of money.

If Haye had allowed the natural flow of things to happen - go for mandatory title shots, fight top 5 contenders systematically - he could have had a really good run even after his transition to HW. But Haye tried to outsmart boxing and its fans and it backfired in a bad way.

 

I totally agree but he certainly didn't think Bellew was the end of the line.
