i like haye and think he is good for the heavyweight division but he will not stay on his feet against kali meehan. i just can't see him surviving against meehans huge right hand. meehan may not be the greatest ever but he will be too strong for haye.
Isn't this the recycled guy who was absolutely stretched in double quick time by Danny Williams years ago? :huh
I like Meehan, and I think he has been stiffed a few times. But his only real claim to fame was a decent losing performance to Brewster. He isn't going to achieve much more.
If Meehan saw the end of the 2nd round he'd be absolutely delighted. He is one of the best examples of how easy it is to keep getting eliminators/title shots in boxing today without even being remotely decent.
good to see the haters. just interested in picking a fighters bad performance instead of talking about anything positive that they bring to the table. keep getting title shot? how many title shots and eliminators has meehan fought einstein. goose. how about u know what u r talking about before opening your gob.
First of all Meehan probably isn't getting by Chagaev. Secondly he is a pretty slow guy in the fall of his career, who has been Ko'd viciously many times. That makes him an easy Haye victim.
i was thinking the same thing about you when i read this topic. meehan is too slow, and it's shown in his past fights, he's not that good, not good enough to make him a favourite against haye anyway. he has a punchers chance, the difference is haye is the better boxer and also has a punchers chance aswell.
it doesn't matter if he starts favourite or not. meehan not that good? he seemed good enough to give brewster a hiding after brewster had just ko'd wlad. he must have a decent amount of ability. it has been known for a year or more that meehan supposedly ko'd haye in sparring. don't pretend u haven't heard it either.
it's that what you go by, sparring? oh my god you got a lot to learn about boxing. all the best boxers in the world have lost in sparring, and guess what, it doesn't mean jack ****.
That was a very long time ago in a fight that he lost. Also, to put it into context tell us what happend when Meehan went in against Rahman not long after? He was mugged in a one sided ass whoopin. Whilst he brings size and some power he is way too slow and will be caught way too often by Haye. Meehan is finished a lot quicker than Ruiz was. Meehan's last fight was in 08 and other than Williamson, the last half decent guy he fought was Rahman in 04. I mean Danny Williams bounced him up and down so many times the referee had to call it off after a round.
